False dichotomy. I use both for different purposes.
It's more like, stack more now and take out debt for expenses I would have needed to hold cash for. So I can pay for my expenses in the future when their cost has gone down in Bitcoin terms.
But the tradeoff is watching the volatility and sizing repayments to hedge against long drawdowns. So I'd have to practice with a small amount for a few months to get a feel for it.
Yeah YouTube really hamstrung the entire 3rd party space with their login requirements.
That's definitely a go-to for me too.
I redirect YouTube links to redirect.invidious.io and try the options they have there. Nadeko is usually the play.
My invidious instance, like every other one, is broken. But the search still works. So on the rare occasion I want to watch something on YouTube on my desktop, I'll search and then download it with yt-dlp.
On mobile, newpipe started working again for me. Setting it to different countries VPNs seems to help too.
I can afford the fee, but I would never use the service 😅
Thanks! Can you link one of those websites you mentioned? I've heard of those circles of fire that people would make way back, and that would be interesting to try out.
Thanks for the info. I'm still figuring out how I want to set up the node. But when I have it up, I'll hit you up to see if we can open a channel 👍
How does opening a lightning channel work? Is it just interacting with someone else's node and putting up some Bitcoin, or do you need to personally contact the node operator? I'd mostly be looking for outbound capacity. #asknostr #bitcoin #lightning
