That brought some sense to it, thanks
I feel the same way. I just don’t see the point in all three 😅
#killtheusername
If I don’t find out the reason for this l’ma start the #killtheusername campaign 😄
Nostr address has to be unique, but I’m sure you can change your username to Tony right now and nothing will stop you.
That’s what I thought, but your Nostr address prefix can be different from your username.

Hey, guys, got a noob question I never thought of before: What’s the difference between the Display name and Username? What is username’s use case?
From what I see, username, display name and the prefix of your address can be all different and all of them can be used to tag or search for users. Feels like we’ve got an unnecessary “Name” field. What am I missing?

I did feel that the arguments raised in the show made sense. The philosophies of decentralized protocols and centralized platforms are too different and “lack of data” collected by ActivityPub does sound like an issue for Meta. They may pretend they integrate something along decentralization lines, but I doubt it will be anything close to what people might expect.
Anyways I’m not the one to make weighted assumptions here. Enjoyed the show though. Thanks for sharing!
This podcast explains why Meta will never support ActivityPub or any other similar (and especially superior) decentralized censorship-resistant protocol: https://moderated-content.simplecast.com

Continuing design revisions on the upcoming chapter 4 of Saving Satoshi (nostr:npub1vy6wcgw6jhhtcmpawvlnsfx7g8qt8r40z7qlks9zwa4ed57vm5eqx527hr).
This was so far the most difficult one for me on the design side because it's so code-heavy. Luckily, there's a great team to tell me what to do.
Holy smokes! How come I never seen this?! Keep it up! Super cool!!!
I doubt it. You could figure this out if you’re technical enough and can assess the code, but this ain’t no trivial task.
Relay operators choose the time period they’ll keep your notes depending on their own preference. Some do not store info at all, but just re-broadcast notes. Some store notes for a month, and some act as “Nostr archives”. If you want to ensure that all of your notes are saved for eternity, you should run your own relay. Otherwise something like wss:/relay.nostr.band is well worth connecting to.
