It was largely a rain day yesterday. We got some nice storms that trundled on by with a few dropping some solid rain. It made getting anyhting done outside difficult. In the afternoon we headed up to our friend's house for dinner and so the kids could all play. I brought them one of my cabbage, this one weighed a nice 3+ pounds.
Cooler day today with a frost warning for the surrounding region, which we skated on with it only getting to 38F last night. Only 4 days from Sumer Solstice...?

Another busy day yesterday that started with a smaller grain run at sun up. The animals were happy to have the munchables and the birds soon found the piles. SUPER stoked to get my book finally, seems like the mail has gotten slower as the years have gone by.
Got the mowing done across the creek as it was super deep and seriously needed to be cut which took me only half an hour. I thought it would take a lot longer but the string mower does an incredible job.
Today we are likely to get rain again which means I will end up mowing the farm again in a week or so.

Busy day yesterday. My truck now sounds nice and normal after the last grinding noise was fixed. The greenhouse now has lines tied up for the cucumbers and tomatoes and I even have a tomato turning color already. Our oldest graduated from 4th grade and his school so next year he goes to the middle school up north. Worked in the creek, hiked the property line, pulled a bunch of weeds, and got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have done this morning.
The #garlic had put off a bunch of scapes. They did it pretty fast as I had checked last week and there were none. I cut them all off and ended up with an even pound of garlic scapes. I'm verging on freeze drying them but am not sure yet. My hope now is the garlic will fill out nicely before it is time to harvest them.

The damned coop door opener needed working on again yesterday morning but this time I think the line will be strong enough to last. It helps being aware in the mornings to notice when the birds aren't out after 7am when the door should be open.
Much of my day was spent on my truck and replacing parts that I didn't REALLY need to. It's all good in the grand scheme since with over 150k miles some parts are good to have new. It turns out that the grinding noise was a hidden heat shield on the back side of the gas tank that had folded up and was grinding on the driveshaft.
Got my 2nd 180 in #darts! They are damned hard to get, triple triple is hard in any number but the 3x3 20 seems the hardest for some reason. That's why I practice.

It's spent Brewing grain. The food co-op I am a part of has a malting operation that supplies many of the local breweries with local grain locally malted that I get from a few of them.

Troubleshooting vehicle issues is a pain in the ass. I think I have it narrowed down to the axle as it is about the last thing that the grinding sound could be. I will change it out today and see if it IS the actual problem.
Got a bunch of mowing done and still have a good bit more to do. The temps and weather have been such that everything is still growing and hasn't shut off for summer yet.

I got in 2 flights yesterday morning, neither of them were great and the second was a bit sketchy. I learned I need to be more aware of my lines as one brake line was twisted and made the second flight a beeline for the landing zone. Lesson learned, Over the week I got in 10 flights and over an hour of airtime.

The front brakes are disc but are just fine, smooth rotors and no grooves with plenty of pad left. It sounds like it is from the rear of the truck and I only hear it when the truck is moving which is why I'm thinking it may be a joint.

It appears that the brakes weren't the problem with my truck, but they are changed anyway. They did need to be changed but it didn't fix the grinding I am still hearing. Maybe it's in the u-joints? I don't know I have to try and figure out where the sound is coming from.
Rain killed plans for the day, well rain that never really happened as it broke up before it got to us. In the end it was fine as I needed the afternoon to rest my sore body.
This morning I head back up to get in a flight or two.

Pretty killer day yesterday! I got in 3 #paragliding flights at Inkler's and the first was my longest one there yet. Over the 3 flights I got over half an hour of air time and near an hour over the week. I'm WAY more comfortable in the air and with my launches now.
Today we are going kayaking at Loon Lake before it gets too hot then will be back on the farm to grill again for dinner.

After my much later than normal grain run yesterday morning I came home with my #paragliding books which I have wanted the Thermal Flying book for over a year now. The animals were all super happy with the grain and I am super happy with my books.
Did a check of my #climbing gear in preparation for a trip and I have most everything we need. Then my afternoon was spent weedeating and weed pulling which is a NEVERENDING process. It's not like we are in the dry south were the grass stopped growing in March, it wants to grow all year long here.
Heading back to try and get some flights in this afternoon with the club if the winds will cooperate.

Got myself a nice hike and fly in yesterday morning before getting a ride back up top for my second flight. Both were shorter but both were still fun. I'm getting much more comfortable flying Inkler's with the rather sharp drop off at launch. Now I just need to figure out how to stay in the lift...
Winds are not conducive to flying today so it will be a town and farm work day.

Yesterday morning I was with the club and we headed up to the Parker launches. I mowed the top launch for Jimmy who was happy to have it cleared and ready for his hang gliding flight. I then got a flight from the lower launch and I totally borked it by flying straight out of the amazing lift that was right at the launch. Lessons learned. Going back today and will hopefully get 2 flights in.
Picked the first two heads of cabbage to have with dinner and they tasted amazing. Pretty stoked that they were started in the soil in the greenhosue in the end of December last year then transplanted out to the main row.
