That is by design. A people removed from nature are FAR easier to control.
One hell of a storm yesterday. It seriously dumped for a couple hours mid day which did a nice job of watering in all the garlic. A quick trip to the dentist for R in the morning as the storm hit full force then in the afternoon I got the parts for the battery box for the Dino costume which J umped into the moment they were home from school. The corn got removed from the cob though I did lose a few ears to mold, I still got about 5 pounds of kernels. Now begins the freezes so I have to make sure the farm is fully ready for it today.

Sweet, thanks for this. Been wanting an offline version so this is perfect
Spent the morning yesterday working on soldering fixes and lipo pack builds, some of which are for my #meshtastic nodes. I got the solar panel late so will try it out today despite the rain. The big job of the day was moving the last of the rocks/boulders from the inner yard out to the wall along the road. With 20F lows coming I had to get them moved before they freeze in place.

Forecast calls for 21F Tuesday night but not calling for snow yet so hopefully there is time.
Yeah there was some solid downpours that followed the backside of the system through but the heaviest ws before noon for us. The region needed it though.
Morning #Nostr
The sky flood ended by noon yesterday and put us at 1.75" for the storm. We ended up in town mid day at Lilac Lanes for brunch and #bowling before heading back to the farm. The boys helped me get the rest of the #garlic planted so I am at over 1000 in the ground. In the evening I hefted all the potatoes to the basement to keep them cool and dark which opened up a ton of space in the living room.

New #Meshtastic stable firmware 2.5.8 is up now
you might need to unplug it then hold down the user button while plugging it back in to put it into programming mode
have to use a chrome based browser to use the web flasher
Nonstop rain yesterday. My garlic order FINALLY arrived so I can now try to get them planted between downpours. Poor kiddo woke with a super swollen cheek which meant a trip to urgent care. While they were in town I got the lipo pack built, finally got word from nostr:nprofile1qqsq230nk8uqu78lk2ldcq9p8eqmp4qghq2x67tz0nyzcr09lpup87qpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtc8j0yhr regarding my now backordered S19, built first fire in fireplace for season, then grilled our steaks over the fire in the firepit.
Now if only Starlink would actually get to the support ticket....

My land is very rocky so their feet stay prettty good most of the year. I will give them a dose of Iver usually once a year.
I'm more hands off the sheep for the most part. They get round bales moved into the pen and I dump loads of spent brewing grain out for them to devour. I wish I had actual pasture they could graze but I have to feed year round. I'm preparing to butcher at least 2 this winter and my old ram is looking a bit on the backside of life.
Soggy morning #Nostr
Yesterday was a serious mixed bag. After my predawn grain run I moved our Starlink antenna like they were suggesting for better signal and after the move the antenna is dead. Refuses to talk to the router.... and ZERO help from Starlink so far. Rather unimpressed.
I DID get the roof extension built for the patio though which I have been wanting to do for years. It works wonderfully now and has the drip edge much farther from the concrete and is minimizing the splash back towards the door. Snow load will be my only concern.
My garlic has FINALLY shipped 3 weeks late and nostr:nprofile1qqsq230nk8uqu78lk2ldcq9p8eqmp4qghq2x67tz0nyzcr09lpup87qpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtc8j0yhr still refuses to respond regarding my order...

It took my a while to finally get to it but the greenhouse is now in winter mode. Got 13 pounds of produce from the remains and a couple things are still growing in the soil. If @kaboomracks ever figures out my order I might be setting up for winter growing...
I reflashed all my #Mestastic devices and got my channels all setup I thiink correctly and am now trying to make the admin channel work for remote management. I need it mounted up on the hill and not down in the hole by the house or else the line of sight would be negligible.

Morning #Nostr
Very happy with how the garlic test came out of the #Freezedryer. I'm really looking forward to next year's harvest when I have hundreds of heads to put through the machine. Little flavor packed morsels of spiciness that melt in the mouth.... MMMMMMM.
My last 3 varieties of #garlic should be shipping today so I can finally get them in the ground, a couple weeks late.

None too pleased by this. Now the site shows none of the hundreds of S19s they had available... But my order still says "processing".

I make them every time we are at a restaurant that has napkin wraps or straw sleeves. They get flung across the table at one of the boys in hopes of a direct hit.

I DID IT! I got the stump removed and the ground leveled back over the top of it. That stump had been staring at me for well over 4 years now and boy did it put up a fight. Over 12 sections had to be cut free since the root base is still 4 feet across below my cuts. This is by far and away the largest stump I have had to deal with.
I have to order a solar panel for my #Meshtastic node so I can get it mounted up on the hill in hopes of getting a better range compared to down here in the hole by the house. The battery pack I built for it will last for a few days so the panel should do well at keeping the batteries topped off even in winter.

Morning again #Nostr
Thanks to the rain yesterday morning much of my time was spent inside during the day. I popped apart another LiPo pack and separated the cells out, then my spot welder arrived and I was able to build the 4 cell pack for my #Meshtastic node that I will be mounting on a tree on the upper property. The boys got the peppers and celery cut up for the #freezedryer and the cyle is running now. When the batch is done I really HAVE to change the pump oil before the next batch is run.
