I think it does. The idea of a falling bird is synonymous with surreal events, sci-fi alien invasions, outbreaks, death. So fragile is life that any sudden change is met with the end. Stunning really.
Also reminds me a a Ross Bleckner painting. 
There’s something I just love about this painting. Maybe it feels like the times we are living in.
