As you (probably) have kyc btc, do not mix it with non kyc. Have it totally separate

It's easy to set up your own node. I recommend #Start9. I have used #Umbrel before, more user friendly but not fully open source.

You can buy an old mini PC for around £50 (€60) add a 2tb ssd and you're away.

If you can't get that going, look into #Zeus. You can turn your phone into the node. #Zeuspay will give you a Lnurl to set up for zaps.

There is no need for WoS custodial wallet. You could also look into #Alby.

Not an expert but assuming you entered the phrase directly into sparrow you now have a hot wallet. Which is probably less secure than a cold wallet which is a device that doesn't touch the internet directly.

Hear cold card is the best.

That way you should be able to keep your seed phrase safer.

In theory just signing and broad casting transactions shouldn't be insecure in either situation.

Its more about the risks of someone figuring out your seed phrase

If it hasn't moved in some time you could claim you lost your seed phrase. I wouldn't risk filing a false report, the punishment may be harsher than "tax evasion". #BoatingAccident

Don’t obsess over price and accept that nobody knows what will happen short or medium term

Have fun with Bitcoin and experiment with using it. Use Lightning. Feel the power of the stack

The rough steps once you have a 12-/24-word seed phrase involve juggling the non-sensitive data from an air-gapped device (SeedSigner) to your internet connected device (Sparrow on a laptop) using QR codes:

1. Load your seed phrase into SeedSigner

2. Scan you master public (xpub) key from SeedSigner into Sparrow

3. Create a partially signed transaction with Sparrow.

4. Load this partially signed transaction into SeedSigner.

5. Fully sign the transaction with SeedSigner.

6. Load the fully signed transaction into Sparrow.

7. Broadcast the fully signed transaction with Sparrow.

and voila ... The fully signed transaction gets propagated through the network via bitcoin nodes and hopefully get validated by a bitcoin miner shortly after.

Try these steps with a small amount of bitcoin until you become more comfortable.

A friend told me about Bitcoin a year later, I ignored this discussion until 2016 when I bought my first Bitcoin for $625 a coin.

I ask my local coffee shop barista when they will accept BTC,

she said, "I wish, but probably never, the owner thinks it's tulips..."
