It def will come up. So maybe that argues for default relay list to be spread in as many different jurisdictions as possible, and not purely on ping times.
Don’t think you can know. It’s always going to be some underlying trust, but redundant across many relays. Important bit is you get to choose instead of being entirely dependent on one.
Most of the early internet tools were sufficiently decentralized. However, the problem to solve became *discovery*, and most of the commercial internet success stories solved that problem…Google Facebook Twitter Reddit etc. nostr neatly addresses the discovery problem by putting more of the power into the individual’s hands. But there will certainly be new problems to solve….
Propagating your data to more relays reduces single point of failure. On you to spread where and how you want.
