In principle, no.

Same here! That's it, I've had it this time 😡

I'm writing a letter to the Bitcoin CEO. Wanna co-sign it?

As much as I've complained in the past about incredibly slow postmix coinjoins, I gotta say these past couple of weeks I'm seeing 5 to 10 every single day. Someone must have been busy... nostr:note1c40st0dqnz9pejceywm5kkj4q22suftx7zu7jcejrt8thls4l35s35qam3

Totalitarians not wanting to join the Nostr doesn't sound like a problem at all, in fact.

But in any case, that only proves that that "the problem" is lack of understanding that totalitarians can have their own little totalitarian relay where they can "feel safe" from Wrongthink and "offensive content" that their too lazy to prevent their clients from showing, while jerking each other off. nostr:note1y4qy5s0sa49ydqx5ct8n59jg6l4y83xxt582cw22yvkgtdjg07dqmt4uu6

No doubt. Every time the snake lady from the ECB says "cash is here to stay", it becomes clearer that they will go after it full tilt with more draconian controls banning more use cases.

But anyhow, the big problem is not the dismissal of physical cash which is inevitable, but absolute governmental control of all bank-mediated movements. Because nowadays it is completely impossible to operate in society for even the most basic things without a bank account.

That's the keystone of the current corporatist regime, the complete surrogation of banks as a branch of government, in exchange for priority access to printed fiat.

Seriously, of all the units of measurement ridiculousness, the "liquid ounce" one must be the worst. Closely followed by the weight ounce. nostr:note10veyvkvsee55ejt3eh4wpkkz8e6h7vlzp6ynwsptzvegagqj6nps07kxxt

To be specific, road kill. You'll find the "km" signs along the road as you drive. If you don't roadkill at least that number of beasts, the cameras see it and they fine you.

And this is me ordering coffee at Starbucks in the US.

The problem with this is that it will be impossible to opt out, and undoubtedly more controls on banking, legacy fiat and of course cash will follow soon. nostr:note1cx4aml8uvjf3hfvqzuy3f9ja9d33rs76acdqqhgx7mrdrkpa8m8q0nk8s6

Apparently Binance has fixed their EUR on-ramp. No matter what your feelings towards Binance, CZ, cexes and crypto are, this is good news.

Related: I spend long stretches of time in the US for work, and I always rent cars. First thing I do: set the units to normal. For the lulz.

I love the US and I like American people. But please enough of this eternal primary school level educarion shit. nostr:note10saxpq7z7xkz0af0wcpva6z7x9nhl3es9e3fsnup6dyl5akvsdgq77d64m

Apparently. And it's "military time" as in "WOW DUDE MILITARY TIME FUCK YEAH I WISH I HAD AN IQ OF 150 LIKE THE MILITARY"

I refuse to use the retarded 12 hour system. It's basically Americans anyway. What broke me was the first time I heard one refer to the normal system as "military time".

I wasn't talking from a legal point of view - laws can change. I was speaking morally. Where laws treat born and naturalized citizens differently, those laws are immoral.

In any case the specific case was Benzema, the football player. Born in Lyon, his father "immigrated" to the metropolis as a French national in the 50's. His mother was born in Lyon.

All these politicians who now have their panties tied in a knot over the opinions and beliefs of French muslims should have thought about it many many years ago.

Too late for such shenanigans. France, Germany, Spain, and all the other major European countries purposely decided to bring or allow in millions upon millions of Muslims because it was in the interest of those dictating such policies: both "right-wing" corporatists looking for cheap labor and suppressed wages, and left wing looking to consolidate large volumes of handout-dependent voters.

And now you want to backtrack and punish some of them for having perfectly well-known views and opinions? They're citizens now, and you have to deal with their shit exactly as you deal with the shit of the generations-born citizens. nostr:note1kgjhxj5apz576dfdnpg82w8f6vdrczu8wax2dx57f2dmt8qxh9esamepqr

1. Who gives a fuck about Twitter

2. Twitter's failure to be a public square where everybody could freely express their opinion predates Elon's acquisition by several years

3. People here, right here on the Nostr itself, continuously complain about spam and bots. They often propose things like

a) Payed relays (supposedly to pass on to them the responsibility to filter and block spam/bots)

b) Proof of work to be allowed to write

which have an effect identical to paying a subscription, in addition to:

c) Client-level hardcoded censorship

d) Relay-level hardcoded censorship

There is also the consideration that Elon needs to make Twitter profitable. I think this is only a secondary goal of the new subscription model. But in any case, how often do we here people on the Nostr complain that they can't make money off it?

a) Relays should be paid

b) Content hidden behind zap paywalls

c) Constant bitching that people don't engage in zapping

Let's criticize Twitter in and because of itself and because the Nostr simply offers a better way. But let's not be hypocrites. nostr:note1ykgf8aycxesccwdmrklm8s7ah4v0azu7jgaskswng89lt08f4c7qqls2s0

This is completely and utterly false. Long before Elon bought it, Twitter was no longer a public town square where everybody was able to speak freely. nostr:note105u7zgqaqmq98d893ffrnteuxfy88uxyxn0e6pz9km90sfdx543spze35q

Can't exactly remember, I offended a mod.

Got permabanned from the whole stinking website years ago. nostr:note17cwdfnknx92985vmm9639ngzn6fs2tu3ep56fr3jpxg020cahqfqskpjla
