I have been building mostly on my own. It has taken awhile to get here. From the design, to hiring a professional engineer for the permit, to the building.
My first career before going to engineering school was woodworking for about 20 years. So, I have a fairly good basic woodworking setup. So that needs a home. Also, been collecting metal machining equipment and building a CNC mill.
So, it will house a woodshop, machineshop, and hopefully an electronic lab.
I am a jack of all trades, master of none. Lol...

I figure if they are painted or stained with a good oil based product, they should last a long time.
When planning my shop…
many moons ago…
I was not pleased with my choices of siding.
It was either very expensive wood siding or cheaper forms of pressed board.
None of which are appealing to me.
So, trying to think outside of the box and remembering the siding styles I saw in Iceland, I decided on 6 foot long cedar fence pickets.
They are:
✅ cheap
✅ decent thickness
✅ a species of cedar (weather resistant)
✅✅✅ Beautiful!
Seems like a good choice to me!
We will see how it turns out!

Living in scarcity… as opposed to living in abundance. That has been on my mind lately.
What does life look like when you are living in each one of those view points?
How does it affect your decisions?
Are we afraid to step out in life and do what we love because of a scarcity mindset?
Is a scarcity mindset a product of our frail humanity?
Is this what it means to trust in God? God is abundance? Right?
Trust in Abundance.
In this new year, I have been thinking of these types of things and trying to reorient my life to it.
