After a few years of putting quite a bit of work into some of my other online profiles for the business, the idea of actually OWNING your profile/account (via a private key, not just a temporary 'log in' to a platform), along with having full control over your content really resonated with me, so setting up on nostr is super exciting.

I have a polished concrete business in NSW, Australia, and am hoping to be the first #polishedconcrete company in the world to receive payment in #Bitcoin !

I have setup a BTCPay Server and added some Bitcoin Accepted stickers to the truck, but thought posting on here might also help with reach.

I have a couple of custom doors I need to build for the greenhouse ( French , lots if light)

I've got everything I need to build them , but that floating tenon machine seems to be a lot easier

I try to warn folks to not buy a ton of stuff when the get started , but I don't listen to my own advice at times

I work with wood , metal ,stone , glass and plastic

I don't have a question yet for you , questions come up later on during the build

One day we woke up and everything with Boeing's name on it fails. Then blatant assassinations with no attempts to make it look otherwise?

it seems too thick for a laminated plastic (1-2mm) and too bendable for a wood vernier. I might be able to peel it off with my hairdryer melting the glue (i think). If the peeling works, I'll just use a 220 sand grit to smooth it out, a coat of primer and paint. My only worry is that some might easily come out and some won't. There's curves and carves and the top layer is vacuum sucked into it so its rather sturdy. Its also very mid-century so I can't quite tell if its a wood vernier lamination or a plastic, but i want to give it a monotonous and modern vibe.

I have a few more question, hope that's ok!

1. Are spray guns a game changer when it comes to painting ? I might be itching for an excuse to buy it but also keeping a close eye on budget and a good old roller might do the trick. Can spray guns be used to paint home doors and walls as well ?

2. If I were to get a wood cutter, are there anything less scary than a table saw ? I might have watched too many Quentin Tarantino movies - this scares the shit out of me.

3. Based on your experience do you have personal preference between plywood, MDF, blockboards and why ? I prefer ply or layers of blocks over chipboards (MDF), but a lot of furniture makers seem to love MDF

If i were to build this pantry, what wood combinations would you recommend? Also any tips and tricks on cabinet making is very much appreciated!

I have a few questions

1. What's the best and simplest way to join solid wood? I am using Merbau (commonly found in tropical countries, janka rating about 8-9, class A similar to oak i would think). I've used Meranti to build a garden bench which is stronger but struggled as I don't have the strength to drill the screws in. Nailing was relatively easier but not easy. I've seen some videos on dove tails and glue joins, but building dove tail from wood would be way out of my skillset

2. What's the best legs for solid wood - this is a 2 by 4 ft shelf and a drawer. I'm looking at something high, minimalist and classy hence was thinking of long hairpin legs but not sure if it can sustain the weight. The other iron legs looks boring.

3. Any brand recommendations for nail guns and when do you normally use it ? For plywoods?

4. What are your thoughts on painting above oil laminated MDF kitchen cabinet door. I am trying to see if i can save cost by replacing half and repainting half but not being able to remove the oil and dirt on lamination by scrapping with a sand duster leaves me with uncertainty on how strong the paint will last

5. I saw your tip on table saw and appreciate it. This has been the scariest tool for me hence i have always got the sizes customized from the factories directly.
