I think merchants need more guidance as to how they can integrate #Monero with their existing business processes.

For instance, how can they generate invoices? How can they manage the accounting? How can they convert to fiat?

Maybe there are already software/solutions that abstract all this complexity in which case I would pitch those rather than a consumer wallet.

Most merchants won’t be willing to accept #XMR if its adoption adds a non negligible overhead.

The booklet is a good educational pitch about the benefits of Monero though.

Would you get a VoIP number or no numbers at all? Many communication services require a phone number though…

The cheapest and fastest? Sorry, but there are plenty of #crypto that are cheaper and faster than #Bitcoin. Of course they have missing properties against Bitcoin.

I thought fees were mostly to prevent spam transactions but if it is to guarantee miner revenue then I guess it is a trade off between usability, security and fix supply.

By the same token, a #crypto with the same hard #money properties but that has less adoption as a medium of exchange will become a less effective store of value over time against it.

Great interview! It seems that the biggest risk isn’t so much to see an increase in mining farms but rather to see #Bitmain earning a sizable chunk of the hashing power. As Howard said, the dedicated miners for sale would probably be obsolete and it may make more sense for professional miners to buy newer CPUs. However, the ones Bitmain runs may be competitive against recent general purpose CPUs hence, the question I’d like to understand better is which percentage of the #Monero network could Bitmain own while keeping their mining operations economically viable. Is there even a upper limit to this percentage and if so, what are the factors capping this limit?

I didn’t know npub could be blocked at the client level. Has this type of blocking anything to do with being block at the relay level? Or is it more similar as being blocked on #Twitter?

In the context of free speech, if you fear repercussions either financial, physical or social to your person from expressing yourself freely then, you’d likely self-censor either consciously or unconsciously. Privacy removes the ability for anyone to punish a person from which they don’t like the speech. Free speech is essential (although not sufficient) for a democracy to be functional because it is a medium by which people can come to a collective understanding of a given situation (collective != uniform). If you value #democracy as a model to organize society and think it is the best at guaranteeing people’s freedoms then you must support #freespeech along with #privacy.
