GM ☕️

It's a beautiful day to say yes to taking your future into your own hands instead of entrusting it to custodians or governments.

What are you waiting for?

On this day in 1933, Executive Order 6102 was signed, forcing all US citizens to turn in the vast majority of their gold or face long prison sentences❗️

Bitcoin provides protection against a potential future order, but only when you avoid KYC exchanges and hold your own keys.

We'd love to help you do both through our education and the products we build to make self-custody simple.

To finally take the plunge and get off of KYC exchanges, take a look at our most recent blog post here:

https://foundationdevices.com/2023/03/bitcoin-doesnt-need-banks/

If you're worried about the concept of being entirely responsible for your Bitcoin, we've got you covered with Passport, the Bitcoin hardware wallet you practically already know how to use:

https://foundationdevices.com/passport/

And if using Passport + Envoy is still too daunting, we'd love to sit down with you 1:1 for an hour and guide you through every step of the process and answer all of your questions with our Concierge service:

https://foundationdevices.com/2022/03/concierge/

Nothing should stand in the way of you achieving financial sovereignty, and we're excited to see more and more people reclaiming their sovereignty through P2P exchanges, tools like Passport and Envoy, and the growing self-sovereign Bitcoin ecosystem.

Bitcoin actually fixes this.

Thanks for sharing, Jay!

Would love to answer any questions you had after reading and hear your feedback in the post 👊

To learn more about Passport generally you can see this page:

We don't have any public documentation yet on this specific feature as it's yet to be released, but will definitely have docs around it once it's available!

It's much better than copy pasting our private keys around and exposing them to common clipboard attacks, data siphoning of keyboards like Google Keyboard, etc.

But NIP-26 key delegation is absolutely the end-goal here and is already a WIP for us.

This allows you to keep your backup/storage of the key cold and only import one time, reducing how often your private key is exposed to your clipboard, operating system, etc.

It also allows far more robust backups as you just leverage your existing backup plan for Bitcoin keys (your Nostr key is derived from your seed via NIP-06).

Next step is key delegation via NIP-26, but need broad support for that in clients first!

Sign into Amethyst in <10s from your Passport, coming in an open beta for Passport this week 🤯

Gain the same peace of mind you gain from your secured Bitcoin keys, but easily login to new clients directly via QR.

Welcome to the next step in Nostr key management 😎

Yeah, seems an issue with the Gossip client sadly.

We'll get to the bottom of it!

👋

Welcome to the free side 😎

Mainly wanted to focus on tools our team uses directly, and couldn't fit every P2P exchange in one post so we had to be a bit selective!

Any others you'd like to see future content on?

With the concerted efforts going on to cut off Bitcoin from banks over the last few weeks, we focused our latest blog post on how you can buy and sell Bitcoin peer-to-peer - no banks required 🤝

We aren't messing around when it comes to approachable and yet powerful self-custody tools.
