Well, these are AI generated images. But soon enough I will be developing worlds and posting them. I'm just really busy with work and finishing my basement.

The races of a fantasy world can have a big impact on what you think of it.

I have had some fun fantasy novel talks with bitcoiners recently.

I figured I would jot down some thoughts from my limited readings...

First series that got me into Fantasy:

The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist. Magician Apprentice/Master was assigned to me as a high schooler. This story of unassuming Pug and his friend Tomas hit me right at the perfect time. Their adventures meeting wizards, dwarfs, elves, and dragons hooked me into this genre of books, and I owe Ms. L a big thank you for the introduction.

Favorite world building:

A Song of Ice and Fire. Might be cliché but I don’t think anyone has done quite the job George RR has done building the history and lore that he has constructed in Westeros. Somehow this story lead me to dive headfirst into a history of a world that did not exist. Kudos to you George.

Favorite character writing:

First Law Trilogy + 3 follow up “stand alone” novels. Joseph Abercrombie has written some of the most memorable characters I’ve ever read all in one story. Logan Ninefingers, Sand Dan Glokta, Bayaz, Whirrun of Bligh, Bremer dan Gorst, & Nicomo Cosca are all some of the most memorable characters I’ve come across. There are some badass characters. There are some honorable characters and some conniving bastards. There are even have some pretty hilarious characters.

Most prolific writer: Brandon Sanderson.

He was able to complete Wheel of Time (have not read), and seems to have the ability to knock out monster novels yearly. His favorite series of mine is The Stormlight Archive. Book one "The Way of Kings" cover art is the source of my avatar. This story has a very interesting world, class structure, and magic system, as well as some great POV characters. Look forward to continue seeing where this series goes.

Favorite easy read:

Riyria Revelations & Riyria Chronicles by Michael J Sullivan. Straightforward stories that always tell a fun story. Hadrian & Royce are a great tag team.

Favorite stand alone book:

The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay. This book reads more like historical fiction than fantasy. It tells the story of great men, and how they battle things like relationships, religion, and duty. As you read, you are reminded that life is complicated, war is horrible, good people can do terrible things, and as new men rise up others must fall. Amazing book.

(Shoutout to Legend - David Gemmell & Watership Down - Richard Adams)

Series yet to read:

Wheel of Time

Malazan Book of the Fallen

Gentleman Bastard

Kingkiller Chronicle

Most of Discworld

I'd love to hear any additional thoughts or recommendations. PV.

Lots of series left to read.

I'm glad you like the Riftwar, it's my favorite fantasy series.

Piers Anthony's Xanth is fun, and the Adapt series merges fantasy with sci-fi well.

Jim butcher's Dresden Files is a great modern day fantasy.

Naomi Novak explores the napoleon war with England, except she adds dragons

Shad M Brooks did a great job with Shadows of a Conquerer

I use to train in hapkido before going to graduate school. Got my little one in taekwondo. It's been great for his balance and confidence.

And now, some half-dragon or dragonborn designs. Midjourney has certainly upped their game in the last few months with version 5.

Don't forget to share/boost this post and all my previous posts to benefit from my zaps.

Decided to generate a few Pantheons for fun. I wouldn't even try to "fix" anything since gods can look pretty weird.

For those wanting free sats, please remember to boost 🔃 the posts, not just heart ♥️ them.

My little promotion includes past posts as well. So feel free to go wild all at once and I'll send the ⚡️ as soon I can.

I think one of the greatest uses for AI generated art is for the TTRPG crowd. You can create relatively unique character designs or place settings quickly. It's a DMs dream tool.

Here are some towns I generated quickly. Are they perfect? No. But I can drop players into a town quick and easy.

And don't forget to share my posts until midnight CST today for 10 sats per share.

Here are some images generated directly referencing the illustrator Joe Jusko. I know him from his work on the John Carter of Mars novel covers. I grew up with those books and seeing Jusko's art.

And don't forget, for every share I'll zap you 10 sats until midnight.

Well, I guess you're right that making it a "promotion" may have been better wording. From my perspective though, I see it as valuing shares enough to pay people for them. Maybe that is the same thing though.

I do understand the hardship of progressing technology though. If you think writers aren't affected, we are. Chat GPT is ever advancing and who knows when AI will be able to write books on its own, tailored to the individual.

I use AI generated images to supplement my lack of artistic ability. I am good with words, so creating effective prompts is within my ability. And frankly, I don't have thousands of dollars free to have every idea turned into an image by a professional. But I can create those images with AI, then use my favorites of those to be personalized by an artist.

First, I missed the part in my own post where I'm asking for zaps. Maybe there was a typo.

Second, I'm a writer, not an artist. I use AI to supplement the art I obviously can't create. God, you anti-AI people are all the same.
