Here is a thought experiment

1000% tariffs on the world

What would happen if the USA goes super extreme and impose a 1000% tariff on the whole world?

Would that finally hurt the world because they have treated the USA unfairly?

Lets thing this.

All trade to the USA will stop.

When you go to Wallmart the shelves will be empty.

When you want a good car, you won’t see any foreign brand. Everybody drives a Ford. A black one.

You want an Iphone. Not available.

The USA will ony have its own home built stuff. A lot of services. A lot less manufactured products.

If you need any minerals, you won’t have it.

The deficit on the balance of trade will be gone. Imports gone to zero.

As the USA cannot benefit from the world, it now has to produce everything internally.

Production costs will go up. Inflation will go up.

Try to produce a refrigirator, a car, and iphone yourself.

Consumption will go down, as prices increase. And there will be unemployment.

Remember East Berlin. A closed economy. Remember North Korea?

The wealthy citizens in the USA will find a way to drive a BMW. But at an incredible cost. Average Americans cannot buy essentials.

The wealth of the nation, it is measured in the number and variety of goods and services you can buy to improve your lifestyle will decrease.

Now you become sick. You go to a hospital. You need to produce all those equiments yourself. The Siemens latest model to check your heart? Not available.

Now snap out of this Hell.

You have been living in the American Dream.

That dream has been built on everything the world sends you.

Now lets move to currency.

How are you going to close the deficit on your public budget? Who is going to buy your US bonds you create to pay for your expenses?

China, Japan, Europe? Since you don’t import their stuff and trade with them, they don’t get your paper dollars so they can buy your bonds. Invest in your real estate!

Do you start to get how insane this is? Tax yourself out of trading with the world?

You have been getting the BEST deal possible! Because you can print the dollar!

China can’t.

Japan can’t.

You have not been treated unfairly!

The world has been sending you all its stuff for paper.

Lets max it out: 1000% tariff on the world.

First you print some money.

Then you send this money to the world.

Then people send you their manufactured products for your paper.

Then you say you have been treated unfairly.

Then you put a tax on your own people so the products you get for your paper become more expensive.

Then your economy contracts. Because the people needs more money to buy stuff.

Then you print more money to save the economy.

Go back to start.

This is a downward spiral you cannot win.

America better start producing all the stuff themselves.

Cars, shoes, refrigirators, cheese, electronics, tvs.

Make everything yourself instead of importing from the world.

Jeff Booth said the more attention and energy you give to the Bitcoin world instead of to the Fiat world the more it grows.

1. One hour ago I thought about an idea: create a character with a drawing app and convert it to a real image. A story to tell.

2. I opened an AI app on my mobile and sketch an image of a woman and told AI to create a woman and then a man!

3. I posted the images on Linkedin, Facebook and Nostr and Instagram.

4. I wrote a text here on Linkedin, added icons to make it nicer.

5. I opened Instagram and scrolled through my images but saw you could add music.

6. Here came the idea to turn these images into a shot video.

7. I opened my phone pressed record and went to Instagram and scrolled through my images while the music was on.

8. I opened an editing software on my mobile and edited the movie.

9. And here you have it: within one hour the movie.

But it doesn’t end here:

I can automate this whole orocess through Python Automation and Create a Digital Asset with AI.

This Digital Assset is a program that recreate these 9 steps with every IDEA I have.

So I can only think of something, draw it and you get the video.

You see how AI makes your work more productive and more efficient?

You are soo right. Others, like me have thought this too. But you can specified it well with the 2 sats idea and where the sats needs to go.

Implementation (my contribution):

1. Email is just an application on top of bitcoin. On top of lightning. Layer 3.

2. Email needs to be decentralized. Built on nostr or pear runtime (pears.com)

3. We need to sell the “new email” and its benefits to people.

4. Maybe change the way we think about email completely: a nostr dm is an email. But it needs to be able to contain attachements.

Reading The Big Print

In 2008 there was a bailout and the people paid for it.

They say hete that the ATMs would nit work and we would be living in caves.

Now in 2025, if there is a collapse of the financial system, do you think we could survive with Bitcoin, and lightning?

Could we just buy our groceries, pay our energy and gas bills and live on Bitcoin?

I’m asking this because there is still a huge debt of the USA. We have ultra leverage!

The USA has 9.2 trillion of debt due in 2025 and a 36 trillion debt.

I’m building a brand Island Wealth on Youtube and Linkedin.

It is small. But I invest a lot of time in it.

And while it is still small I’m thinking: why am I putting all my time and attention to decentralized social media that can ban me in a snap?

Am I freaking crazy?

So I started first streaming everything to zap stream while streaming it to youtube, facebook and linkedin.

But thinking strongly about ONLY streaming to zap stream AND even buding my own bloom server!!!

On the long run I own my nostr keys and thus I own my content!!!

You have a mich bigger audience on Youtube. So you have a much bigger liability than me. If they cut you off your revenue streams from youtube are cut off right away.

So from a - not your keys not your Bitcoin view point - and analogy - not your keys not your videos - you don’t OWN any of your content on Youtube!

You don’t!
