Well this is aging well. Twitter nuked the bird logo on the web and now on the mobile apps too. How long before the name itself is gone?

I've been thinking a lot about deleting my Twitter for good.

I spent a lot of time, money, and energy building a following there, but it's not really my following since it can be taken at any time. Sunk cost.

Twitter was the main way I organized our sticker competitions and bounties, but I'm realizing most of that community is willing to participate exclusively on Nostr.

After all, my goal is really to reach Bitcoiners to help them spread the word, not necessarily to reach pre-coiners directly.

If the end of the Twitter / X road is censorship or a permanent ban, why put any more energy there?

If the end of the Nostr road is true ownership of my content and social graph, why not focus all of my energy here?

If you will agree that posting musings while in bed and mostly asleep already may lead to minor omissions, and other nonsense. ;)

People might not know there are costs to running a Relay and the one time payments one are shutting down left and right because they can't keep up with the costs.

Monthly subs for a relay is the only way but what are people comfortable with paying monthly ?

It will all come down to how much it adopted and user count but does 1k sats sound reasonable per month ?

That's about $0.30 USD currently.

For Nostr to really explode it needs to be reliable and fast so paid relays are where it's going to start.
