I've gone full Kevin McCallister, home alone tonight as the kids are having sleepovers and the wife is at work. This is the first time in, possibly, ten years I've been without any of my family at home and it feels weird.
Did an 18 hour fast today and walked across town to drop off my son's things to his friends house, adding to my walk at the fiat mines. Tired and alone 😂, time for bed. GN

40 minute weights workout, first one in a while due to some back issues, then work in the garden for the afternoon. Had the day off, allowed me to gsd for myself and the homestead.
The flower is one of my wifes favourites, it's a succulent called Pigface. This particular one I liberated from the Flinders Ranges last time we were up there. It produces these large and very bright flowers.

At a site yesterday I found a bee swarm under a roof overhang. After reporting it to the office, thinking they would call a beekeeper, I returned to find a Groundskeeper just casually blasting the area and bees with a big tub of poison.
I don't get people who deal with problems like that, just poison everything, kill everything, destroy a swallow nest because it's in the rafters and made of mud. This is the problem, because most people think exactly like that.

Final levelling and laying of a thick layer of mulch, the aim is to create a more usable outdoor space, connected to our courtyard and house, to use in spring and summer.
It was hard yakka, taking most of the day.
Now for some seating and replanting of bee attracting flowers and herbs for the kitchen.
