Wars have always ended. The sooner it ends, the sooner all killing stops. It will feel like a defeat for Ukraine - I don't like it, but it seems better than continuing at such great expense of lives and taxpayer money.

I think that we poked the bear one too many times in our relationship with Ukraine, and that Putin reacted rationally to it. I think that Trump is a master negotiator, and that he it's handling the situation in exactly the way he intended to. We'll see if it's the correct tactic in the long run.

Trump seems to legitimately going for peace. A deal Russia seem content with.

EU globalist and Zelensky seem to be disappointed and angry peace is on the table. They seem to want more young men to die. They appear to want a full blown EU v Russian war, but why?

I think it's good that he's trying to bring an end to the war. People are far too concerned with the principle of teaching Putin a lesson, but at the expense of lives.

And I support Jeffrey Sachs’ view that it’s about time Europe opens up diplomatic channels towards Russia and tries to end the bloodshed in some shape or form - where Ukraine remains a sovereign nation.

I think the world is having a hard time adjusting to the new reality that the US isn’t interested in policing the world, and Zelensky seems to be one of those struggling to digest the new information.

Whoever Zelensky’s advisor is needs to be sacked too - he went in provocative.

Peace is good. Russia is one of the largest brutal dictatorships today. Trump is just forcing the issue. In a bad way, but he is forcing the issue.

The hope is that Europe takes the lead and finishes the deal with substantial agreements to restore order.

I am not sure if Ukraine will get any land back. I am not sure if they want to get. Maybe get the people in each state to choose in some real referendums, somehow.

The Ukraine state that we know of started in 1991. Prior to that Kiev was never sovereign over such a region unless you go way back before the Mongol invasion of 1236 which IMHO is too far back to be relevant to anything. Instead that area was controlled by Russia alternating with other powers such as Germany in WW2, Poland from 1920-1938, Austria-Hungary split with Russia for 120 years before WWI, and other than Crimea being controlled by the Crimeans, various splits between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Poland, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Cossacks, and of course Russia. Of course Kiev controlled locally but they were under the domination of these other powers.

But this is a silly way to determine who should control. Ideologically, I support smaller local groups who want freedom from larger groups, and I do so all the way down to the individual. I believe individuals should be sovereign if they want to be.

That being said, I don't recommend that individuals break laws and spit on police officers, as Ukraine seems pleased to do with Russia.
