Raising babies & finding peace.

If you want proof that the world is evil and corrupted, look no further than mosquitos and hiccups.

😬 I’m so sorry.

Long story short I’ve been using it to track days I workout outdoors as a personal challenge. Public place to document consistency/accountability.

Because I’m on iOS, I had no clue it had such a significant UX impact on android for others. So I’ll be nixing this moving forward - my apologies to all who have sat through these. I can find different ways to track this.

Ha. That’d be fun.

I think tbh I just need to kill how I’ve been handling these for everyone sake.

Honestly - I’m tracking something for myself and want it to be easy to look back at for consistency and it be public so there’s some sense of pressured accountability.

No one has asked what I’m doing yet so I haven’t really felt it necessary to explain it or find a better/different way.

So, may not be good. But it is a good edge case for the oddball in the back. I’ve found it helpful - though if I’m wrecking experiences, I’m open to different ways of doing it.

How many show for you on amethyst? I’m on iOS and I just see the two most recent.

I just finished game of thrones.

Objectively, it had its ups and downs in its acting and production. If you boil the storyline down, it’s a little underwhelming. However, I found it engaging and enjoyable for the most part.

That being said, I’m challenging myself to not watch any shows or tv in my spare time this year (2024), save for down time with my spouse. Which will be a while, co-sleeping etc considered.

I’m very cognizant of the time suck that it can be and want to try to spend my time elsewhere. Also more and more aware of the impact content consuming has on a person. I am worth not taking in temporal things, as is my family.

Love you all. ✌🏽🙏🏽

## Chef's notes

This is a base recipe. You can and should modify it to your tastes.

For a honey mustard, add a couple tablespoons of honey.

You can affect the taste by changing the vinegar around, like a white or sherry vinegar. You can use beer instead of vinegar. Also chop up some fresh herbs like tarragon and chuck it in. You can also play with the water and vinegar ratio for less of a bite (or more).

If you want a more yellow mustard, chuck in some turmeric and sugar.

Play with the heat of the mustard by changing the seeds and the heat of the liquid you start with. Black mustard being the hottest. Starting with a cold liquid will make for a hotter mustard instead of a warm liquid. (IE white mustard seeds in a warm liquid will make for a mellow mustard vs black seeds in a cold liquid)

## Details

- ⏲️ Prep time: 10ish min.

- 🍳 Cook time: 48 hours

- 🍽️ Servings: About a 3/4 full 8oz jar

## Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons of brown or black whole mustard seeds

- 1/4 cup ground mustard powder

- 3/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 cup water

- 4 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

## Directions

1. Grind seeds in a spice grinder or in a mortar and pestle tell the seeds are at the desired consistency.

2. Mix the dry stuff together. (seeds, salt and powder)

3. Mix the wets in.

4. Cover and let sit for 2 days. (I use a jar) Wait time is important here. It will look soupy at first and thicken up as the seeds absorb the liquid. The time also allows the mustard to mellow. Fresh made mustard is harsh and bitter tasting so give it time.

Excellent recipe!!

We’ve tried a few times making whole grain fermented mustard. Was good. But I didn’t know the difference that water temp would make. Super cool.

Kiddo #3 has now learned how to climb up the bunk bed solo.

It’s game over now. They’re gonna catch one of their siblings from the top rung 😂

I'm gonna do it. Aiming for a 6 day water fast starting tonight.

Having my last meal of coal fired steak, bacon, and wine.
