The movie napoleon is still something that my wife and I will watch at some point. But for me napoleon is a special story.
When I was 13 years old my French teacher in high school told us the story of napoleon in French. She was deeply in love with the man so many years after his death. The passage of the crowning is a moment I will never forget. It was the moment after decades of proof of work where this man challenged every established order.
Lying in bed now, while the baby needed to get something to drink at 3AM I was thinking about time locked multisig key cutting technology and the impact once it’s easily usable for everyone. Once you set up a time locked multisig you crown yourself master of something that cannot be taken from you by force. But over time might end up in the right hands for where you have distributed your keys.
Bitcoin has always been a human project with choices reaching from large multi person setups to 100% self ownership in your head. It is the first time people individually or as a group can plan how they distribute their life energy after they die. It is set in code, on the strongest and largest computer network that humans could build. The real users of bitcoin crown themselves king. This time you can choose that people can’t take it from you by force. And that is a power that never really existed for mankind. Plebs wanted to make a dent in the adoption rate. So a flyer was printed a couple thousand times to be added to our orders, or to be ordered at our webshop for a symbolic amount. “How to accept bitcoin in 3 minutes” is a short explainer with a link to nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq. We understand this is custodial. Please let lightningplaces know when there is something stable, easy and in dutch thats cheaper and self custodial lightning. They have put in the effort and proof of work to create these flyers and to make sure people have an easy first touch point with bitcoin. If sufficient relays survive, an inscription on decentralized Nostr might actually have a higher survival chance than a centralized Twitter post. So here’s my take:
“I don’t want a tombstone, I want them to fire it up and use the heat I emit for the last hash. Stack the sats and throw an op_return in the timechain with “Bert” nothing more, because that would cost a fortune when I die. Rather future generations stay humble and stack sats instead of getting an expensive tomb stone with a maintenance fee that they have to pay to the church.”

On Saturday it’s time to shop with lightning. Make sure you spend sats every day to create a bitcoin economy. I have been spending sats almost every day for over a year now. Zaps, shopping, local butcher, tips, orange pilling attempts. Keep on working on the adoption. 
What I would like to see is a retractionary database control. Once product sent, auto delete all data except shipping product(s) and timestamp and order number. Then we can always find back the order in case something went wrong. That’s what we do now manually, but I would love to see the customer could actually control this database instead of me, being the merchant. I don’t want to be able to copy the data. Also I believe it could be interesting to start a shipping company that does give customers a way to just create the shipping label and the merchant can just do a drop off, of the requested product and never see any details of who ordered. Just got a QR code and had to drop the order at the drop off point where it’s scanned and finds its way. This would mean full privacy for online customers. Now people still need to trust me with their shipping data, email address and ip address. I’ve been in the ledger hack and can tell you I’m very much focused on doing this right. You still have to trust me though. In a decade from now plebs will still order with BitcoinBrabant.com i hope. The sovereign shop
gives me and my family the feeling that we help the bitcoin ecosystem a tiny bit. And every day I drive a package to the shipping shop I’m happy someone will be more sovereign after receiving our products. This is the highlight of my day in bitcoin. Knowing the foundation of bitcoin is built slowly and we are still early. In the meanwhile we’ve reached order number #1134. Of which are many tests and non paid orders, but we’ve shipped hundreds of sovereign devices.
Miners, Signing Devices, backup plates, seal bags, thick seed qr/word paper (self developed). It’s been fun building this over the past years. Bear markets are for building clearly 😉
