Are you solo mining or pool mining?
When people say they earn "about $1.50/day in sats" what do they mean? How is that paid? Is that paid daily by a pool? If you're solo mining, aren't you just "lottery mining" and hoping to hit a block (with no payouts)?

You can do either! But with my small hash rate w S9’s decided to join a pool. My chances of winning the lottery would be about 1 in 50 million lol.
There are multiple pools you can try, but the nice thing is you typically get steady payouts based on your hash rate. There are multiple ways pools do this that you can check out, but essentially it’s a small steady stream throughout the day.
When you configure your miner, there is a place to copy and paste the URL of the mining pool you would like to join and you can creat a name for your miner, which you can then search and link to on the pool website/app to start collecting sats. From there, you can withdraw to a wallet!
I’ve tried several different pools, but I’m currently in via BTC which I’ve liked so far. Here is an example of what the app looks like.

Also sweet they sell the stuff to be able to do the convert yourself! (If their model sells out)
Thank you!! This seems incredible. Will probably end up purchasing…just have to find a good spot in the house for it 😂
Also, fellow USAF 🫡 🤘🏼⚡️
nostr:npub1jpa95gmrt6szhczjcv05vkces2h0kat8zrxvna3g4gcmwrfwychqaxtsa4 Y’all check out Loki modified miners like “The Urlacher” from Altairtech.io . It’s an S19K Pro modified to run at a lower wattage to allow for 110 v mining (for Americans). Some of the best specs I can find without enough tech knowledge to do it yourself or spending money to mess with your breakers/electrical to get 220v.
“The Urlacher”
$2300
56T Hashrate
1200 watts
53 dB
Sick!! That’s amazing. Bookmarked and will check it out. Thank you for sending!
Haven’t tried it but liking ViaBTC a lot. PPS+ , and 10k sats withdrawal threshold. UX is pretty good too.
Hmmmm. Seeeems like it? Tbh need to learn more about this tho 😂 only scratching the surface so far
Likewise! I’m in the ViaBTC pool and there’s an option to do that - still learning about it though
Oh sweet!!! Bookmarked and will listen! Thank you for sending
Thank you!! ⚡️
Oh damn! My Aussie had a few run ins with my mother in law’s chickens when he was a puppy…after some unfortunate episodes he’s now at peace with the chickens 😂
Hell ya dude! We’re down in Texas hill country about an hour west of Austin. My wife and I always talk about creating a little citadel - got a nice quiet bit of land out there & planning on chickens, bees, garden, etc. We’ll both be hunkered down if thinks get nasty 😂
That would be sick! Would love to do that. Gonna start with heating a chicken coop first 😂
Can always get more hash with S19 and other miners, but would require a 220V outlet…and can get pretty noisy lol. Always way more expensive.
S9 is the best place to start and learn in my opinion!
Thank you! I started last summer but ran into some IP issues after shutting down last week. Back online again!
It’s well worth the experience and super cheap right now for S9s (like…less than 80 bucks), which if you’re in the US like me, are nice since you can run them on a normal 110V outlet.
If you buy from nostr:npub1q4zl8v0cpeu0lv47msq2z0jpkr2q3wq5d4ukylxg9sx7t7rcz0uq5ftv7q they come with everything you need (can just message them on Telegram), including Braiins OS firmware, where you can underclock (like I do 800 watts instead of 1400) to save on energy bill but still get heat. Still about 10 TH/s hash rate.
Only makes like a dollar/1.50 USD a day, and lose about that in energy…but well worth the fun in learning and heat in the winter…plus being able to contribute to the network/get some sats :)
If you try it out can always reach out to folks here for help if issues…everyone has been incredibly helpful getting set up!
If you’ve never tried #homemining, I highly suggest it. Puzzle solving and constant learning. Man, after hours trying to troubleshoot I’m finally back hashing!
For a non-tech guy it was definitely a learning experience figuring out what static IPs, DHCP, etc are and how to work through issues to get back set up and hashing.
Pretty stoked and you feel like those few little sweat-sats are that much more precious. And a room is nice and toasty again.
Thanks nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 for the putting me on the right path (you were right! just took forever for me to work through my network to do it), and nostr:npub16vrkgd28wq6n0h77lqgu8h4fdu0eapxgyj0zqq6ngfvjf2vs3nuq5mp2va (Braiins toolbox is awesome…didn’t have it before)
The #Bitcoin and #nostr community are amazing. ⚡️
