Hail Eris!

Hear me out though: dynamic mute lists with totally customizable parameters, like mute if user posts more than x amount of times within x timeframe, if they use certain words, phrases, or hashtags, or if x amount of your following or followers list has muted them.

With the massive bandwidth usage issues, plus issues of finding coherence in feeds, shouldn’t we be heralding every effective possibility to reduce bandwidth and increase coherence?

If you’ve ever used antisocial media, you’ve implicitly used an automated block / mute / derank / boost list, designed to glorify and promote psychopathy. We can still use those tools except for empathy and group coherence instead.

Yes i did save relays on iris, but it also seemed to be getting reset just by trying other clients. I've found most clients other than damus, amethyst, iris, and primal to be pretty much unusable. it seems there should be a standardized client onboarding import screen, confirming follow list, mute/block list, and relay list

status should be the note. redundancy reduces coherence. The status of my status's status is that statuses are notes for people who post too much, but want to post even more, yet would like to acknowledge their awareness of that particular post having zero value to posterity, by making it an ephemeral "status," rather than persistent note. Music listening status has already been available for decades with things like last.fm / libre.fm

Sorry if i just gave people refollow notifications. Trying different nostr clients and kept getting my follow list reset. Was able to restore thanks to kind3.xyz by nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft

Muted list got reset too, does anyone know if theres a similar way to restore muted lists? Like the ones that get saved to listr.lol from primal? #asknostr

it's ok for primal to censor NSFW imho.

I'm buying nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z 's saying that nostr client being opinionated is encouraged.

If I were a dev I probably would do a client banning "airdrop" whatsoever🤷🏽

a specialty of psychopaths (on both sides of the censorship debate) is purposely conflating and blurring the lines between censorship and common sense decency moderation.

when NotSees decide for others what they can and cannot see.

This though, mute based on a set amount of posts within a set amount of time, would auto clean the feed of over-posters

Calling user blocks impossible is a pretty limited view. The entire premise of removing the block feature is a marketing gimmick by Elon btw, people are eating it up giving free engagement, even though the community notes on his original post pointed out it was fake. This is like when IHOP pretended to change their name just to get people to post about them. A platform of open interactions with no means of limiting is like a car with no breaks. There is no reason why nostr can't strive after and expand on the model set in adblockers like uBlock with simple list selection.
