Swimming through life with my otter half

23 🥴… I still fax things weekly for work. Healthcare is slow to modernize.

GM. Not my meme, but my amusement for the morning. 😊

Gotta inspire new customers. Are you up to try? 😏

Today Cricket Powder is 50% off at my local grocery store. 😯

603 million over 5 years (for the various incentives to promote French, not just the inspectors).

Language inspectors visited a couple hospitals, but it seems like so far they visited areas with no patients and took issue with things like plaques on the wall not being in French.

I think the only real threat of “getting caught” is, as you said, from snitches.

I can’t get over how stupid and overreaching the provincial law is in regulating what languages can be spoken in health care settings. Some hospitals have multilingual staff and patients. In the past, if they had, for example, an elderly patient who only spoke mandarin, they would assign them with the nurse who spoke mandarin (when possible). This seemed like the safe, kind and effective way to work. Now this is ILLEGAL?!? How can this be? Why would you choose the moment people are so vulnerable to give them a language lesson? I think it’s unethical to follow this law.

I agree with the above. Just because something is hard, doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile. The most rewarding things are never easy.

I think my four year old was threatening me. He told me that if I don’t read him a bedtime story and sing him a lullaby, he is going to dream that I am a monster when I pick him up from daycare. 😈

Oooooohhh… I’m shaking in my boots.

Ah man, that sucks. Time seems to work differently for these guys.

1 point for liver. I only ate it once and I was trying really hard to eat it since someone was kind enough to have me for dinner. But it was a struggle. 😅
