Amazon removing the download option for purchased books got me looking into alternatives. Have people heard of Anna’s Archive? They have a huge collection of book torrents to help preserve a decentralized library of human knowledge. Feels very much in line with the ethos of Nostr users. They appear to be in strong need of torrent seeders. I might go out and buy a hard drive tomorrow and help out.
Blows my mind that IRS employees are trying to garner sympathy

Looks like the amount at which you have a 50% chance of success doubled from ~$200 to ~$400. Very cool!
Huh, that’s cool that bitcoin’s ever-increasing purchasing power continually makes the lightning network more reliable. Makes perfect sense, I’d just never thought about it.
How do you guys see the network topology changing in the future? Continued node centralization and consolidation to fewer, larger channels?
After you ruined last year’s conference by inviting a bunch of politicians? No thanks
Wanna see what Nostr does to AI?
Check out the pics. The red ones are coming from default Llama 3.1. The green ones are after training with Nostr notes.
If you want to download the current version of the LLM:
https://huggingface.co/some1nostr/Nostr-Llama-3.1-8B
The trainings are continuing and current version is far from complete. After more trainings there will be more questions where it flipped its opinion..
These are not my curation, it is coming from a big portion of Nostr (I only did the web of trust filtration).

So it just says yes to everything?
Ah ok I think we’re just disagreeing over definitions then. I’d describe that as permissive parenting. Can’t say I disagree with your original post now.
What do you define as gentle parenting? I define it as not using violence or the threat of violence against your kids.
Bad take. Hitting kids is pretty shitty.
Agreed. Spam attacks could have been done in disclosed and responsible ways, or in non-production relays that don’t affect real users.
I’m working on one! It’s like the Alby chrome extension, but it’s a desktop app. Very early stage. There aren’t any supported desktop apps that can request event signings yet, but I’m working with nostr:npub1ygzj9skr9val9yqxkf67yf9jshtyhvvl0x76jp5er09nsc0p3j6qr260k2 who is building a desktop app that will be compatible. I’m also planning on building a chrome extension so it will work on the web as well.
Store the note locally. If all relays purge it, you can always rebroadcast it.
On X you can screenshot a post. On Nostr you can save the actual post. Kinda wild.
Possibly nostr:npub1ygzj9skr9val9yqxkf67yf9jshtyhvvl0x76jp5er09nsc0p3j6qr260k2 ‘s Comet Notes desktop app: https://github.com/nodetec/Comet/releases
Completely agree. Fiat shills are the prison guards that enslaved us in order to shield themselves from the consequences of their bad decisions. Now that we found a way to escape in secret, why would we announce it to them?
In order to shield yourself from bots, you have to wall yourself off from brand new accounts. There’s no getting around that, since bot runners can spin up as many new accounts as they want. The best way for new human users to bootstrap is probably to assimilate into the web-of-trust of someone they know. And if you’re a real human joining Nostr, it’s almost certainly because you already know someone who’s on it. Just ask them to follow you and that’s reasonable proof to others that you’re not a bot.
Working on one with an integrated fedimint wallet! (Generously funded by OpenSats, thank you!)
Will try to have a first release in a few weeks!
