Right?! Where is your zap button Rick?

I do think that is part of it. I don’t believe I would feel the same if I had never had the home of my dreams.

This makes me sad and I know it’s easy for me to say since I have been a homeowner, but enjoy it! There is immense freedom to not owning a home.

In a rental now. We move to Hawaii in June and will live in a family home.

Sold our home last May. Have lived in a rental home since. Now we downsized considerably, but our monthly rent is approximately the same cost as our housekeepers, landscapers, pool guy and taxes on that house.

Most can’t afford it. It’s sad.

Agree that is was a large part of our net worth, and made a nice gain on it, but when I look at our monthly costs for maintenance, taxes, upgrades, etc over the years, I would have rather owned bitcoin.

#Whoremembers

If you read this as “whore members”, I’m sure we would be friends in real life.

Yep, I love that.

Considering how much my home was a gathering place for our friends and kids’ friends and that it was such a source of pride for me; I am absolutely shocked how little I miss home ownership.

Funny you say beach volleyball. We don’t really have that for boys in Georgia and my son loves basketball & football, but the beach volleyball coach at my son’s new school in Hawaii has reached out to us about him playing. He doesn’t seem interested, but he is curious about water polo which he can start playing in 8th grade. We know nothing about it.

Perfect “big guy” sports. It is a great joy of parenthood to see them find their interests and strengths.

Total badge of honor!

My 4th was 10.6 lbs at birth. There were 7 other babies in the hospital nursery that day and the next biggest baby was 7lbs something. This older southern couple looks in the nursery window and go, “Omg look at that gigantic Mexican baby.” 🤣

Considering he was born with a large heart defect and we were told he would likely be scrawny, we enjoy every time someone is shocked at how massive he is a twelve.

Enjoy every minute of that big healthy boy!

But I believe a reward with worthless value has negative impacts on human behavior imo. Particularly young teens and preteens are vulnerable to the dopamine hit of a like.
