#DITTO A breath of fresh air on the #nostr platform.
The main reason why I was drawn to nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7erfw36x7tnsw43z7un9d3shjqpq0qdp2fc9ta6vraczxrcs8prqnv69fru2k6s2dj48gqjcylulmtjsu4qu0f was because it was new , fresh and it kind of looked like #mastodon and I kind of liked that.
Using #ditto vs other dedicated apps like #Primal and #Damus is an amazing platform, I've been using the #PWA for a few days and I love it so much.
If you have not tried it yet please go do yourself a favor and try it now.

Greentext was removed from Soapbox (in general) because it was copied from Pleroma FE and proven to be vulnerable to XSS attacks. Some Soapbox servers on the Fediverse put it back because they don't care, I guess? lol
To answer your second question, we're still ensuring Soapbox maintains compatibility with the Fediverse for anyone who wants to keep using it. That being said, the primary focus now is Nostr and all of the new features and improvements we're making are primarily for Nostr.

Ah I see! Actually you are getting at something I've been thinking about. I'd like to give admins the option to make the "local" feed show anyone who was *approved* for a username on that domain even if it's not the one they currently have set on their profile!
This would solve your problem because you could just grant yourself a NIP-05 on that domain, but then choose not to set it.
I'm not 100% sure I've convinced the rest of the team this is a good idea, but if there is a demand from users that's good to know! So for now the best I can say is... stay tuned? 👀
You can actually be the admin of a Ditto server regardless of which NIP-05 you set! For example, even though Henhouse.social is the NIP-05 I use, I'm also an admin of Ditto.pub (and have a NIP-05 there, too, that I can use switch between any time I wanted).
The downside of doing this is just that your posts won't show up in the local timeline (which filters for those with a NIP-05 that match the Ditto server domain). But if you don't care about then I think that you can do it today!

I second Ghost. Been using it for years. You can publish articles and also send them to your mailing list at the same time. Easy to self-host with Mailgun.
