You shouldn't store your keys on any device. You should memorize your seedphrase and only use air-gapped laptop/phone/hardwarewallet to sign the transactions.

Yes. I use an offline-only Pixel device with GrapheneOS for signing my transactions. I call it 'GrapheneSigner'. It's more secure than an old laptop with years behind in security updates or any Hardware wallet.

Start9 has no real security, it's a small team of devs devs. It's running on generic hardware with no secure element—even if you encrypt your shit nothing will stop an adversary from bruteforcing your password and accessing all your data. This is why a 6-digit PIN on a Pixel device is more secure than your 20+ character Start9 password.

Desktop security is a joke. Mobile operating systems were designed with security as a foundational component. They were built with sandboxing, verified boot, modern exploit mitigations and more from the start. As such, they are far more locked down than other platforms and significantly more resistant to attacks. GrapheneOS running on the latest Pixel device is the best of the best in terms of software hardware security.

I'll zap 1000 sats to anyone who gives me ONE reason/argument as to why we still can't have #bitcoin Core (or any other node implementation) on our phones in 2025.

🔹Smartphones are far more powerful than Raspberry Pi's or old laptops.

🔹Many of us already have cheap, unlimited 5G data plan and bandwidth.

🔹A 10GB pruned node is enough for 99.99% of people. You don't need all the block data from the past 15 years...

🔹Initial syncing speeds can already be dramatically increased with snapshots of pre-synced timechain data (see jaonoctus project).

🔹The node doesn't need to be always online, just when you're moving uxtos, it can quickly sync to the latest block, so battery is not an issue.

Legacy is a Strange Ambition.

Plenty of motivated people want to leave something behind. They want to build something that lasts or share an idea that echoes through time. Some farmers wish to leave their soil richer than they found it. Some home builders want to create homes that will shelter generations.

Entrepreneurs often sit at the center of this. They are painted as the most driven members of society. Risk takers. Builders. But how many of them actually escape the grind?

The stereotype looks like this:

- Sacrifice family and health to make the business work.

- Put off kids or miss the T-ball years.

- Chase growth because "if you're not growing, you're dying."

In theory, they’ve left the rat race. In practice, they’ve just stepped onto a faster hamster wheel with fewer guardrails.

Sure, the payoff could be big. But at what cost?

I’m not here to say one way is right or wrong. There’s room in this world for just about every approach to life. But when it comes to legacy, I think we often get distracted. Most of us will not change the world in grand, obvious ways. Few of us will build companies that last for centuries.

More of us, though, can leave our little corners of the world better than we found them. And almost all of us can chase the clearest, most time-tested legacy there is: raising good kids.

Not everyone will choose that path. But for me, without that, none of the other stuff really matters.

Memory Injection will be a major security problem in the future.

I feel like I remember scenes when I was a toddler. But the truth is that I only "remember" them because I have pictures of them. My mind creates a whole experience that I think it is true even though I know my mind couldn't have stored all that from that time.

With sufficient data from my friends, realistic memories can be injected through fake pictures that just show up with a past date in your Google Photos. Your mind will build an entire experience around them that never existed but you will think it is real as everything else.

Especially if it makes you look good and proud of yourself.

Now it's paper Bitcoin via, the Spot Bitcoin ETFs, MSTR, MSTY, STRK, STRF and the likes of 21 Capital stock, etc. Many more will follow, mark my words.

I'm not saying these things are of no value and are not backed by some of the people I respect the most. What I am saying is that for the majority of people (that's you), they serve as nothing more than the same bait-and-switch tactics used throughout the ages to get people to hand over the most important thing of value for the allure of something more, the bells and whistles. With real Bitcoin in self-custody, controlled by you and you only, you need nothing else and they know it. That's why they want it.
