Memory Injection will be a major security problem in the future.

I feel like I remember scenes when I was a toddler. But the truth is that I only "remember" them because I have pictures of them. My mind creates a whole experience that I think it is true even though I know my mind couldn't have stored all that from that time.

With sufficient data from my friends, realistic memories can be injected through fake pictures that just show up with a past date in your Google Photos. Your mind will build an entire experience around them that never existed but you will think it is real as everything else.

Especially if it makes you look good and proud of yourself.

we need a CWE for that 😅

your text makes me really think about this topic

"Reality? What is reality, show me one"

LLMs will eventually run in human brains .. new programming language is called #mind.lang :-)

Wait .. it already there .. #stories and #books .. Shakespeare was the biggest mind coder !

I think this is where a practice of intense mindfulness and presence can help. In those fake memories, we can build a script around an image. However it's still not going to feel the way deeply tangible moments in life feel, the real memories are more than just a narrative and 3rd person perspective pictures.

Smelling the deer carcass after a successful hunt, or feeling that playa dust encrusted sleeping bag, or the way their mouth tasted like toothpaste when they kissed you... These are things we cant really imagine if we haven't experienced them and been present and mindful enough to take stock of all senses in that one moment.

Who knows, maybe this tech apocalypse will usher in a new era of mindfulness 🥰

Dude I know a girl that can remember the taste when she was in the womb of her mother. You're not thinking enough weirdly

I wonder if some of my toddler memories are real. But I have very few pictures, and of those I've seen, I remember nothing.

But, for instance, I have a distinct memory of reading a book in a car as we passed street lights.

I even remember the book: Golden Sword of Dragonwalk

With verification, we can recognize them as memories of The Other 🤔

So long as they're useful, isn't detrimental to us having vivid fake memories + awareness that they aren't __yours__ through verification, would there be a problem?

Excellent defense, inauthentic fraudulence, when detected and easily distinguished, informs us of the nature of any antithetical agenda.

Astral reflection but exact and correct. The past is a set of blurred memories mixed with fantasy 🤟😉

All memories are subjective by nature, more or less made up. To believe that they are real and objective is what fucks you up…

What's crazy is people are already being buffer overflow attacked IRL. Info overload, it overwrites the truth param, and just accepts any info that fits in the memory. The digital future is scary for our meat computers.

Dark City

They were already doing it during COVID

"New normal"

You can't remember it ever being different

Dark City is an underrated movie.

It is really scaring for human relationship.

Having a memory failure is just human.

Being always under AI or bot influence will really put us into a matrix.

It is weird finally to know that human will (could) destroy humanity.

I don't want the world to become like this, really not.

Whatever the good reasons "they" give us.

Stay aware, resist when you can, federate people that understand that, it is the only thing you can do, to try to avoid this dark future.

Wait til you start reversing your selfies to see what your true self looks like

From an atheist perspective this is the major ethical issue with people who claim to talk to the dead. Their lies are overwriting and distorting your real memories of your dead loved ones.
