Finally finished this piece; lost track of the shapes in the to left corner, but figured I'd do better moving on to another piece than trying to fudge around with this one more. I've got a botanical painting book on hold at the library, really looking forward to that because I'm not happy with any leaves I draw or paint. Inked the frog and branch with Higgins Waterproof Black ink, then MGraham watercolors over the rest.

I tried doing an ink and wash copy drawing of a 18th century Japanese dish.

I’m not entirely unhappy, but I feel so cartoonish and unrefined compared to the original!

Blind folded?!? Wow, that is so cool. Did you do anything different than normal while making it? Were you feeling it without manipulating it alot, to try and "see" how it was shaping up? or did you just trust the muscle memory?

the process was more or less the same. I think I focused on the overall form rather than the nuances since I only had a rough idea of what it looked like. Yes I did feel the form to try to imagine what it looked like, but without relying somewhat on muscle memory as well I think I would have been pretty lost.

threw this awkward jug (?) form blindfolded for fun. drawing is what I imagined it looked like before I actually saw it. not being able to see the form but only feel it was an interesting experience
