Does gossip not load images? Is this not counting image download bytes? I highly doubt this number is correct. Some profile pictures are like 5-10MB. This is FUD itself.

Just wanted to clarify some confusion I often see when users ask "how to verify yourself with NIP-05" kind of questions, because they used to think a checkmark means a user is verified.

As you correctly stated, NIP-05 just allows to add an alias to a pubkey.
