"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

I'd further that to say it's a mental illness--akin to "groupthink" --

"hey if we all cooperate, we'll all have everything we want"

Disassociated from reality.

Success is directly correlated to the amount of hard work you put in.

There are no shortcuts--no "free rides" in life.

GM Nostr!!

Should be another cooler day--will have to still consider an iced coffee later in the day though...

(Cleared out some of the "accumulation" next to the garage yesterday--today I have to cut up some metal scraps to take them to the recycler, so going to be quite a bit of work)

So I'll be tired, and ready for that cool treat!

#coffechain

I'm assuming guns are illegal there? Is there any way to fight back against the corrupt police?

Every single one of those cops is a criminal...

Great response--well thought out (and this helps). I can understand the nostalgia (I have some of those) but the "sense of completion" is maybe it--wouldn't that possiblly be a dopamine reward (similar to many video games)?

I'm thinking there has to be something like that...? It seems there has to be some kind of biological "reward" for collecting....

I get it--but I was really talking about the whole "collecting" thing we (as humans) seems to do...

Not sure if it's the gatherer part of "hunter gatherer" but it seems we're "wired" to collect stuff...and stuff of a certain type.

Just not sure it makes sense to me...

(But I see your point with tools--I have a garage full of tools for working on things--and each has a purpose--but I don't really "collect" tools per se...)

Not being critical here...but I don't get the appeal of knife collecting (and I have a good friend that's got a substantial collection...)

It's a tool--it seems to me it'd be like saying "I've got a great hammer collection" (and yet I'm sure there are folks that do collect hammers...)

Do we all have some kind of a "collection" gene--and we have to collect somthing?

Baseball cards, knives, Yi-Gi-Oh, Beanie Babies, cameras, fishing poles, string, NFTs--the list goes on forever...

What is it that compells us to accumulate "stuff" of a certain type...

Thoughts?

So my question is--why don't we simply have open source voting machines?

I'd think developing code for something like this woudl be pretty straightforward...

And then any "hanky panky" could be mitigated...

Sheesh...could probably even put it on Nostr...(oh wouldn't that be classic!!)

Anyone working for the Government in any capacity is part of the problem.

Period.

Some amazing stuff you've shared...stunning video (thanks for posting).

What do you think will happen next?

If you're going to run Umbrel you'll want 8 GB of RAM, and you'll want the "official" power supply, as well as a fan...

Even though you can sandbox Google Play Services on Graphene, I still prefer keeping all that stuff off my phone.

If Google wants to track the apps on that old phone, they're welcome to that information. Nothing else goes on that phone.

(For TV, we do have Amazon Prime - comes with Prime free shipping, so we use that--but even then we're getting tracked and profiled...yet that suffices for our TV).

And of course Amazon Sidewalk is not enabled...still, it's our only real concession to being actively tracked...can't really avoid Amazon.

Couldn't agree more.

People are "comfortable" and (like the US) when the fraud is evident you heard "There is nothing I can do..."

And with the J6 setup, now everyone is afraid to speak up--

And now you're seeing the same thing getting teed up for another steal--Kamala is suddenly ahead in all the polls - that makes the steal "believeable".

Gaslighting now by the media - and (again) if the people in the media would just say "yeah, this is wrong" it would stop. But it's happening all over again.

They tried to kill Trump, now all that's left is to steal the election again.

I keep an old phone (no SIM) on hand and use that when I need to sign into Google--

All permissions are turned off (e.g. location) it never leaves the house, and every time I pick it up I know I'm being tracked (so I only use it for certain things--games mostly).

Graphene for everything else ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and a great use for an old phone.
