"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

Seek and ye shall find...

I'm betting we have some Nostriches that could help? Maybe a family member or such?

You still live in a fiat world...and you need to understand and leverage the opportunities that exist in that world (at least for now).

That includes the tax benefits of IRAs (especially ROTH).

Don't dismiss those tax advantages...use them to your advantage.

Have to disagree...algos are the problem.

I've taken quite a number of aggressive steps to avoid algos in my personal life.

I'll search for my own data (thank you). I don't need *any* algorithm telling me what I should (and should not) be receiving as content.

I am part of this. I'm still not 100% sure why, but, I can assure you that I love Gitcitadel because I love the people building things together for fun and for profit. I slay have faith that they are going to steamroll everyone else in the long-run.

Have you ever thought about that metaphor? I have. A steamroller is mostly a simple machine. It is heavy, by intention, to perform a very critical function of smoothing out a freshly paved surface. It is slow. It needs an operator that is aware of where it is and where it needs to go because it does not turn well. But, it is an essential step in making a road that is pleasant to drive on and also more durable. You see, it fits into Gitcitadel's modus operandi perfectly.

Most other nostr devs are frantically hacking trails through the jungle on their own. This has its own appeal, but, most people aren't going to want to put the effort into following that kind of path, no matter how many times they read a certain poetic phrase about a road less traveled. My compatriots at Gitcitadel have been building a road that will last, much like the much thought about Romans. (I assure you that most of us think about Rome daily. ๐Ÿ˜…) The beauty of doing things this way, doing the hard, unseen, thankless work, is that after that, the rest of you will greatly benefit from this. EVERYTHING will get better in the face of "stuff that just works." And, it will also look better, too, since UX and UI is central to how we build.

To sum up: Gitcitadel is building roads to places you want to go; slowly, but we will get there. Once we do, everyone else is going to have to stop acting like headless chickens because coolness does not, in fact, trump utility and reliability, outside of low-time preference pandering.

Only if you allow it...you can say "No, I won't use your app"

People will still take your money.

Part of the problem is almost everyone says "Cool, you have an app? How convenient for me!"

I never load any app without first checking permissions using Exodus and/or the Aurora store...

You have to be willing to take ownership of your privacy. Once you begin telling people "No I won't use your app" it gets easier...

Happy Sunday!

Day of rest. Nothing on the agenda! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

(Except coffee of course)

#coffeechain

Why don't we have open-source voting machines? (Or if not, will someone PLEASE write the code?)

Wouldn't that be the simplest solution to all this nonsense?

(I'll buy the coffee needed to get this done...)

Oh...wow...that's a mile alway. No wonder you get the abrasion trying to get it aligned.

Why is it so far off? (Feeling like you need a jig to ensure the initial bends are spot on...)

And what will happen...

Nothing.

Legal system will let those people out with a "warning"...and they'll be back on the streets (if they get arrested at all).

"We don't have the resources..."

Ah...the joys of having a good amount of flex and some quality graphite to bail you out! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Good morning, #nostriches!

I'm at work (making up for taking Monday off) and finally getting to use the new jig that one of the engineers made for making these arm rest parts. It's pretty good, but there are some teething pains. The worst of it is the scuffing of the tube badly enough that I have to polish the scuffs out. This is backwards and I'll have to consult with the engineer on Monday or whenever he can get back over here. Aside from that, it works really well. It is definitely faster since I can get the tube clamped in and aligned very easily and drop the filler plate in and weld it in one process. The bracket part of the jig also needs some work as they don't fit correctly, but that's already being redesigned based on my feedback.

Anyway, I hope you have a great day. I'm looking forward to getting home to check on my solar (power) system (if I was making my own solar system Pluto would never not have been a planet, you monsters!) since I made a few changes to what hardware I'm using and tweaking the settings in an attempt to optimize the current setup for self-sustained mining over a whole day without needing much, if any, input from an external power source. There's no good pics for that, so, pardon the bunch of text about something that you might have no clue about. I'm just excited on a very nerdly way over continual, iterative improvement. ๐Ÿ˜

I don't get it nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh - what's causing that scuffing? Minor movement during the alignment process? (Or do you really have to crank down on that alignment bolt?)

Seems like a redesign is in order (and a good polishing of the jig)...

Ironic that they're called "bored apes"...

These things are still going for ~$30K... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Perhaps "stupid apes" would have been more appropriate...

Happy Saturday!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oh stop--

The "dumbing down" of our educational system is the biggest crime we've ever committed against our children.

Go back and read the letters written by common soldiers during the Civil War. They're quite eloquent and beautifully written, and not a single child that's a product of our public school system could ever hope to be able to compose their equal.

So, ask yourself why that's so, and what's changed?
