"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

Kia Soul?

I'm not sure I could live one day in that, let alone a year...

How you survived (thrived?) in something that small would have been a great story to follow...would love to see you document your experiences in a "lookback" chronicle on that year (maybe on Nostr? 😃 )

It'd be a really great read...

I agree with Coracle - if you want privacy (and you should) then take steps to independently ensure your own privacy (SimpleX is a great choice).

Don't wait for someone else to do it (e.g. coding it into Nostr). Nostr will get better (I'm sure) but regardless, each person needs to take ownership of their own lives.

(And assume that virtually everything that you publish online is at some level discoverable).

This might be your most profound post ever L ...

Success is personal (and it has to be). You'll always find people to say you're wrong, you can't succeed, it's a dumb idea, etc.

But success only comes from being relentless, believing in yourself, and pressing on regardless of any barriers (perceived or real) that may be in your way.

Bravo!

Apathy is the perfect word--and it's endemic to modern socienty in general.

People don't care about privacy ("I've got nothing to hide")

People don't care about inflation ("My 401K is going up")

People don't care about voting ("My vote doesn't matter")

People don't care about crime ("I don'r want to get involved")

People don't care about God ("I only have to answer to myself")

Apathy--people are too comfortable "letting someone else" do it.

GM Nostr!

Happy Friday!

So cold this morning that my first notes didn't publish.

Guess I need to get some coffee in first...(hoping this one publishes)

The administrative cost is due to oppressive governmental regulations, and the cost of compliance, documentation and reporting.

Completely insane...legislation typically runs thousands of pages each year.

Oh man, that takes me back...probably the most talented and innovative comedy group ever.

But British humor is an acquired taste...

GM Nostr!

Happy Thursday!

Going in for another set of tires today...different vehicle, but same story.

Man those things are expensive.

Going to need some extra coffee today!

The government never generates "revenue" - they simply steal from the populace via taxes (and other illicit means).

Here is what the article said:

He "clone(ed) endangered mountain sheep embryos and use them to breed a hybrid species"

That is not selective breeding (where you breed a poodle and a labrador)--that's genetic manipulation.

GM Nostr!

Happy Wednesday!

Time to zap and drink coffee!

#coffeechain

Selective breeding is quite different from genetic manipulation...and yet even with selective breeding, man is not smart enough to understand the consequences of such activity.

The hubris of scientists knows no bounds...

Exactly my point...genetic manipulation is bad.

Period.

That's what created COVID...man does not understand the "science" enough to even think aobut messing with genomes, but we're doing it anyway.
