It takes all we think we know about money, time, work and energy and flips it on its head

As a consequence we spend our time and energy wiser and become richer and happier hard workers

1) My grandmother and my Aunt. Grandmother died many years ago from Alzheimer’s complications. My Aunt, the child in this picture is now years old. Her husband of over 60 years passed away 2 weeks ago. When they were taking him away, she said: “Don’t go far Jake, I am coming right behind you.” It’s true, she is very I’ll now 😭

2) My grandmother, same from above, with my grandfather. I never met him. He suffered from polio, and his life was cut short after complications resulting from an auto accident. He was a truck driver and worked on the railroad.

3) That is my dad in the background with side burns. Long before I was born.

4) My younger brothers and sisters. They are triplets.

5) My children and my twin nephews.

6) My wife.

Life moves so quick. Today, it feels like it’s almost over for me. Closer to the end than the beginning.

Makes me think of the book of Exodus when the Israelites were led out of slavery from Egypt by Moses.

They get to the Red Sea and set up camp and then the Egyptians changed their mind and pharaoh was coming after them.

The Israelites then turned to Moses, after having complained much already, and said “why oh why did you take us from slavery in Egypt? At least there we had 3 meals instead of here where we will die in the desert.”

Conclusion: most people would rather die in peaceful slavery than with dangerous freedom.
