I don't know where I messed up, I thought I taught her well on what to look for in a man.

The guy just showed up at my house and starting rambling on about how DCAing 30 dollars in 4 months into Bitcoin helped him understand finance and geopolitics. I told him he was completely oblivious about being in a ponzi, this only unchained a, what I believed to be, a cocaine induced speech saying that Bitcoin was going to be the next currency of the world and he was going to moon while buying "lambos" for his friends because he was no "Bitch-ass paperhands".

I'm a bank executive, so you can only imagine what a nightmare this is for me.

Don't know what the point of this post is, it's not like my daughter is going to stop dating that idiot anyway. I'm scared about my daughter's future.

A good that is sound money doesn't need to be backed by anything. When something is backed by something, it means that some central authority has deemed it so.

When the dollar was backed by gold, that was because the government said it was. But the gold itself is not backed by anything. It has value because it represents an amount of work.

So yeah, Bitcoin isn't backed by anything because it doesn't need to be. The way that it is designed makes it a really good way to store and transact value.

The Bitcoin Standard is a good book for this topic. it's not short, nor a video though.

Soft-orange-pilled an outlet store which I found by chance. They were selling all kinds of streetwear stuff of known brands. Asked them if they accepted Lightning payments.

Their reaction: "Lightning? What is that?"

Explained it shortly but they couldn't even understand the crypto/Bitcoin part. I left without buying anything. I was ready to drop some serious Sats though, if they accepted it.
