#bitcoinmagazine “JUST IN - 🇬🇧 £33 billion British bank Coutts closes Nigel Farage's accounts because his views “do not align with our values.””
And #bitcoin is like:
Research question 🙋♂️ if they paid you bitcoin via a lightning invoice for the data they’re currently collecting would you continue to use the apps?
My original post was wrong. You would want to connect to multiple relays but if they we’re connected to multiple then you get the exponential effect of being connected to many.
My point exactly, I wish I could connect to 3 relays and they be connected to 3 as well so I’m effectively connected to 9.
Well you would still connect to multiple of these “mega relays”, say 3 of them, but they’re each connected to 3 different relays so now you’re effectively connected to 9.
Has anyone attempted building a #nostr Relay that just connects to a bunch of other relays so users only have to connect to one relay?
Look what I just bought with a Coinkite satscard 🙌 https://nostr.build/av/8f26305c7a3cc0d340a5bf366001e183f03b6aae42b1326872759e7a6527bf89.mov
Maybe we don’t need to focus on “how do we onboard the next 1 billion people” and instead focus on “how do we onboard people in the industries most incentivized to use bitcoin”
The tragic comedy of it is that the majority of people in those industries are older and “non technical” and so they are too scared to use it.
It’s really interesting that the oldest industries (ranching, guns, tea, farming) seem to be more attracted/incentivized to the idea of #bitcoin than big tech companies.
Not exactly sure why, but I think now is a good time for a Soylent Green remake or sequel.

LA Bitcoin ballers club???
Ugh, scoring mechanisms, here we go. Ok take the amount of time since the note was posted. (Time) and divide by the number of zappers (distance) which gives you the velocity score of a note. Then somehow mathematically sprinkle in total reach and total amount of Sats to get a truly horrendous number that nobody can understand.
If banks start to use Bitcoin in any capacity, even just bank to bank transfers, crypto scam victim counts will increase by an order of magnitude… How do we get ahead of this?
NIP-05 and Lightning addresses looking like email addresses is such a horrible UX. We need to change this paradigm soon.
