1. How do I get the simplest version of a nostr app working?

2. I get what relays do, how do I connect to one?

3. I see that most nostr events are this thing called "kind 1" events. How do I pull in a list of kind 1 events?

This is what I did, and it helped a lot. Once I had done 1, 2, and 3 it was a big unlock in my brain to understand where to go from there.

Anyone think Tim Draper will give Ross his bitcoins back???

Whoa, whitehouse.gov footer socials. 👀

Is Ross free yet?

A Strategic Bitcoin Reserve sounds great at first…

Our only option is to increase minimum wage to 100k a year. That should solve everything right?

The average American would need 2 full years’ salary to be able to buy 1 bitcoin. Crazy. 🤯

It’s a trusted app/extention where you put your secret key “nsec”. When using nostr apps (clients) you don’t want to give each client your nsec for security reasons so the client can create the event for you (such as posting a new note) and send it to your remote signer to sign it with your nsec and then hand it back to the client to publish it to the network.

If the Trump administration truly wants to be “innovation/bitcoin friendly” one of the best/low effort ways would be to allow small amount transactions (< $1000) to be tax free. This would remove the small but significant mental barrier of using bitcoin to buy things, gift to others, etc.

A fear I have of the strategic bitcoin reserve, specifically one funded by seized bitcoin, is that now the government will be incentivized to confiscate (aka get it for free) from people.

Self custody is crucial folks!

You can send a delete event but technically a relay can choose to respect it or not so functionally, no, you can’t completely delete a post.

I’m on the westside. The smoke from Pasadena has been covering a lot of the city. The wind keeps getting strong and pushing the various fires around the city stronger. My cousins and aunt evacuated to Orange County and say they know 6 people who’ve lost their homes so far.

Fair point, I agree that smaller government is better. The US has done a decent job of decentralizing government by way of states rights, but a lot of laws/taxes seem to bubble up to the federal level which sucks. Still, while not trying to solve the worlds problems, I still think it would be awesome to be all one country for the reason in the OP

Ok assuming you’re Canadian. If Canada acquired the USA and Mexico you wouldn’t think that was awesome?
