Anyone here from LA? What's the situation like?

One thing Twitter was/is good for is getting updates in real time in emergencies

I think nostr:nprofile1qqszd44fgen4ucpl3hjt7muuaazzqdahp3lwu9c07phdweelcdxf3ugpz4mhxue69uhkyetkduhxummnw3erztnrdakszxnhwden5te0wfjkccte9enk2arpd338jtnrdakj7a33qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvhj9400 is, not great apparently☹️.

Have to stay inside 🫢 air no good

Scary

There’s always mad cars and rvs parked on pch and they keep exploding so they had to get a bunch of bulldozers

Thinking of you and yours.

Thanks friend! We’re still safe where we are, just pretty close and have a lot of loved ones losing their homes

Aren't you afraid to stay put like that?

No LA is a huge county. Fire is a good 25 miles from us right now

Doesn't seem that far to me 🥵

If it’s gets 10 miles closer, we will go to Laguna

That's wild! 🫂✊

Yeah, but we can’t go look at it because they barracaded all of pch and won’t let anyone in

Malibu is on fire and heading towards Santa Monica. Fire is still out of control. Thousands of buildings and homes destroyed.

Damn..

Wild

I'm hearing from my biz partner in LA that many of the highways are closed down and evacuation is getting increasingly difficult.

I’m on the westside. The smoke from Pasadena has been covering a lot of the city. The wind keeps getting strong and pushing the various fires around the city stronger. My cousins and aunt evacuated to Orange County and say they know 6 people who’ve lost their homes so far.

https://www.fire.ca.gov/

To give some perspective the Paradise fire from 2018 destroyed 150k acres before it was contained.

Its fucked man. All fucked. No water, no personnel to fight the fires.

Good luck and stay safe.

It's not twitter anymore. It's called X.

Incredibly valuable correction. Thank you for your service

It’s baaaaad 😔 Power is out for me but thankfully I have a safe place to be. You can download the Watch Duty app to track the fires. Hoping they’re under control soon 🙏

Family in Altadena lost everything. House burned to the ground, nothing left but the fireplace. Everyone is safe but all they took with them were passports.

worse than maui fires

And just like that celebrities became normal people in crisis. James Woods interviewed in hotel having lost everything. Steve Guttenburg not even recognized by news crew (since he hasn't been in anything big since maybe 3 Men and a Baby or something from almost, gulp, 40 years ago). But they all also saved neighbours and didn't run away.

My friend's (they're all ok) house in the Palisades may have been destroyed. Neighboring house was on news engulfed in flames. Lots of Warhol's destroyed in that house.

My Aunt's house is fine and just got back power.
