I wonder if that's ez-pass rate or not...it basically cuts tolls in half. would still be most expensive of these, anyway.
used to have the option to pay cash, now the choices are medium expensive doxx (ez-pass) or very expensive doxx (toll-by-plate)
the sudden arrival and slow departure of the ordinals craze, and accompanying time of high fees
success in this context is a process, not an endpoint. in 2000, could have said internet is succeeding even though majority of world has never been online.
what would be bitcoin's success to you?
I say yes...does depend heavily upon definition of success though.
To me it's succeeding now as well, even though probably >99% of people have never sent or received actual sats, lightning or on-chain
let's see...alleged prize for one reposter 10k sats, 250 reposts so far.
expected value 10k/250 = 40 sats.
nah
interesting pod...thanks for sharing!
kinda funny that he happened to shit on Unchained (your competitor) in the process of revealing his info source. They deserve it, they didn't keep their customer data safe...still funny though

"Don't compare yourself to other people. Decisions are made at the margin. You wake up every day, you contribute value to the people around you. You gotta put that value somewhere. Bitcoin's the best place to put that value, period...It's been the correct answer for the last 15 years, it'll be the correct answer for the next 1500 years."
that could be...the 2of2 multisig of lightning channels is abstracted away from me, unlike wallets where I'm setting up the scripts and signing manually. I bet if your node software that's putting together your channel opens and closes used TR, they could make channel open/close txns indistinguishable from a single sig TR spend.

vidi well, brother...vidi well
yes sir, or more focusing attention on TR anyway. No devs on my payroll though, unfortunately.
I have no idea how the coding of segwit wallet integrations compares with TR...for all I know, TR may be way more difficult.
As a humble user, I will run the best wallet and node software that's available. Doing P2WSH multisig on Electrum, Spectre, Caravan, Nunchuk and Sparrow has been available for years, and is amazing as-is, which I'm thankful for.
All of the benefits of TR that were touted prior to its activation have not yet been realized AFAIC...unless talking about shitcoinery on BTC.
With segwit, it was activated in Aug 2017, and wallets had incorporated it before year end...first the "wrapped" segwit addresses, embedded in P2SH, then native segwit in early 2018.
TR is a different story. Activated mid 2021, certain wallets here and there began rolling it out, as single sig. The TR advantages of transactional privacy (CISA) and decaying multisig (ie starts as 3 of 5, then in a year becomes 2 of 5, then 1 of 5) to me have value only when applied to multisig scenarios, and have yet to be incorporated into wallets.
Single sig TR isn't much of an improvement over single sig P2WPKH...it was way more meaningful to update from legacy to segwit addresses, however TR, as it stands now, doesn't offer near the benefit to change one's setup.
AFAIK:
uses Schnorr signatures instead of ECDSA
addresses start with bc1p, not bc1q like V0 segwit addresses
has more abilities regarding multisig...before TR, when spending from multisig as P2SH or P2WSH, had to include pubkeys of all signers, whereas TR only has to reveal aggregate pubkeys & signatures. this may or may not involve cross input signature aggregation, which I'm unsure of current use/availability.
Dude is a scammer.
Dude says true things sometimes.
Both can be true...fair warning that he'll very likely try to cash out whatever social capital he's amassed eventually, and in the process, extract precious sats from those who believe him.
Some info surfaced a while ago (2023?) about some of the promotions he was running, prior to the adoption of his current nym. See if you can find it.
IIRC, he was hawking get rich quick schemes.
There may be some signal in his videos currently, but I'd wager he'll eventually move to cash in his social capital in the space and exit scam in some way. Strong Richard Heart vibes...that dude put out legit content for years, then used his social capital to fleece people.
Being deliberate about one's cash flow decisions is certainly advantageous, especially currently
Thank you AC for going down the rabbit hole and educating yourself to make great low time preference moves for your family's future!
Many of us have people in our lives that reap the benefits of our financial discipline and our delayed gratification...also, we get our moxie stress tested every few years as well.
