All of Bitcoin's data ready to be explored

Here's a peak of the completely reworked API for the v0.6 release, in which it:

Finally has a(n optional) range (from=INDEX, to=INDEX), which if omitted will give the whole thing (if it's not too big)

Supports multiple formats: Base JSON, JSON (file), CSV (file), TSV (file)

Supports multiple datasets at once, for all formats

Supports a bunch of indexes such as height, date index, tx index, tx in index, ... and later month index, year index, ...

I've basically answered all the feature requests that I got

Stay tuned for more updates about the v0.6 and its release

Great read which I would've missed it on Primal, try other clients folks !

is there any good block explorer other than mempool.space ?

checked a bunch and everything else feels and looks terrible

Trying #Yakihonne after seeing it mentioned here a few times, it’s very nice

Catched up with a bunch of events that I never got on Primal

Thanks a lot ! Still a long way to go nostr:note1smd9d6h8ykjsjulja2nq3yhj8pr47k5uh57fax82s8y8r3f2j69s56ue9y

De Buyer ? Hate those rivets

Cast iron is both the most forgiving (when cooking) and cooks the best compared to SS and CS, the downside is of course the “maintenance” (and I’ve used all 3 extensively)

I feel the same way !

Let’s see how it goes but I fear it might end up like most Apple TV shows where it’s all downhill after the pilot

While it was never the goal, kibō.money will end up "competing" (or rather being an alternative) to electrs (as an indexer) and mempool.space (as a block explorer)

Pretty much all the data to do both was needed and already there all along but was too entangled with the rest of the code for me to realize that and now that I'm splitting things in neat little packages (crates) that can be used on their own I can see it

So I'll slowly add features to allow both of them starting from the v0.6 release

For anyone using a terminal, try Ghostty it’s native, fast and just generally very good !

Not near term at least, too much to do before that but if you want me (or yourself via a PR) to add one or multiple feel free to ask !

Many grant recipients said the same but it truly is both an honor and a privilege to be able to work full time on Bitcoin tech and be part of this movement.

There really aren't many jobs more important today and this grant provides a very needed lifeline which allows all of that, for that I am incredibly grateful

Kibō is already one year old and yet it still feels in its infancy, there many goals still to achieve and ideas to implement.

I really hope that I'll be able to continue working on it for as long as I possibly can

And while this project will forever be completely open source, there are still plans to be profitable with services à la mempool.space like paid hosting. After that I very much intend to return the favor and join the other side as a donater and allow others to join us build a better future

In the meantime I'll keep on building and can't wait to release the massive v0.6 update which is a complete redesign (code wise) of the project with huge improvements for self-hosters and many other changes

Thank you so much to everyone at OpenSats and all donors, y'all are phenomenal

(and for anyone wondering kibō is Japanese for hope)
