Beef & Bitcoin

Absolutely. In that scenario I'd almost certainly agree to a change. We might all be on L2s at that point and the fees are necessary to secure the network so we'll see but I'm open to alterations just extremely conservative. I'll give you a quick example, my WordPress site ground to a halt because there were to many plugins and one as stuck in an event loop draining all the server resources. Now I just use it as a website and moved all my cms elsewhere, it performs much better. It's small scale put the principle holds.

I’ll take a stab at it. There’s a lot to unpack here and I’ll be paraphrasing rand0 a fair amount here, so hopefully he cuts me some slack.

Orange Pillers lack foresight and only view things in hindsight. They lack discernment and never take personal accountability. They have no principals and will abandon these principals at the first sign of confrontation. Never truly believe in what they say. A simp. A follow the leader - unable to come up with an original thought. A second-guesser. A sugar-coater, tip-toeing around feelings because they secretly crave and covet influencer status. They are the Western Commie, a Dishonest Courtesan, an Elite Yuppie. A person infected with VAIDs. Someone who does the bare minimum and expects passive income. An invertebrate. A gaslighter. A collective altruist, who doesn’t understand reality. It’s never their fault for why they are where they are. They think they’re morally superior than you. To put it succinctly: they are the one marshmallow kid. When something good happens, it’s never enough. And shockingly these same people that supposedly hodl bitcoin, have future predictions that are Nihilistic in nature.

Orange Pillers buy high and sell low and then get mad when institutions arrive before they have “enough” (ignoring the fact they had a 15 year head start). They always say stuff like, “Yeah, I heard about Bitcoin at like $45 a coin.” You could replace $45 with any number and the point is they don’t buy unless their wive’s let them. They reminisce of what “could have, should have, and would have been.” Eventually, their envy makes their pockets empty. They lash out and lose their way.

“It’s not fair,” “It’s going below $10k soon,” “The ETFs will never get approved,” “The price could go up or down. Or sideways,” After something happens that’s positive for Bitcoin: “Wow, Bitcoin is down 8% now. Thought you said we would moon after the good thing for Bitcoin occurs?” “What about a Bitcoin 6102? Did you ever think of that?” “What if the power goes out for years? Bitcoin will surely be worthless then!” “Lol, it’s never going to $1 mil” “$20 DCA is the way,” “Politics don’t matter,” “It’s just two sides of the same coin,” “What if the government bans it?”, “Trump is a traitorous seditious liar!” “He’s just trying to get your vote!” “Why didn’t he free Ross last time?” “Wear your mask!” “You don’t care about anyone but yourself!” “I had no choice to get the jab or else I would have been fired!” “You’re just a conspiracy theorist!” “Where’s your evidence it’s the thing that it clearly is, but I’m in denial because if I acknowledge it I’m doomed?” “You’re being sexist!” “You’re being selfish!” “You’re being anti-Semitic!” “You can’t just point out the obvious! It’s not that easy!”“Weird that you care about Greedlove’s sex life!” “I’ll believe it when I see it!” “I’m going to heed the advice of this 19 year old who works at Target and has no life experience, over Saylor’s advice!” “I can’t wait for bitcoin to go crash and watch Saylor’s company implode!”“Wow, Sam’s (Bankman-Friedman) is really going to get away with it!” “*trades bitcoin with leverage and blames anyone but themselves*” “No! That’s not how I want you to use Bitcoin!” “I don’t know why you’re happy Wall Street is co-opting Bitcoin. We were supposed to replace the banks!” “No! Wall Street should listen to me! I’m the adult in the room! I was in the space before them!”

That’s not everything Orange Pillers have said, but hopefully you get the gist by now of how they behave naturally.

Here’s the rub, however. When enough time has passed, it always, without failure, comes down to:

“I never said that.” - Orange Pillers

“I always knew *insert the thing that they most definitely did not know until it literally happens* that would happen. Look at me! I’m so smart!” - Orange Pillers

“Why can’t we alll just get along?” - Orange Pillers

“You said that thing would have already happened! You’re wrong!” - Orange Pillers

My personal favorite is when they don’t realize Bitcoin doesn’t care about them (it sure as hell doesn’t give two shits about me), and then they start doing influencer-esque posts that essentially boil down to this:

“Sometimes, I wonder if Bitcoin is thinking about me too?” - Orange Pillers

Rand0 has had fun calling these history revisionists out (he still does, but he used to too) for the last four years and I hope you join him in mocking them.

I needed some guides when I turned up but let this shit die, I've grown up and so has the corn. The op era is over.

Again brother can't fault your logic. I think there will be a group of sovereign individuals who custody our keys and normies will hold it with their bank. I had hoped otherwise but I've seen too many people fail to grasp even the basics. And that's ok imo. Aslong as we keep Bitcoin decentralized and secure we can use it as we need. People will get rugged and will learn or not. This is the natural state of things. Winners and losers.

Bitcoin now feels like the underground band that just went mainstream and everyone's worried they're going to sell out. Fwck these newbies who don't even know the words to the hidden bonus song on the first album lol. Times are changing but more people are going to hear the music which is ultimately good for all of us.

I’ve heard the argument that we need the institutional investors to come in to pump the price. Idk if that’s true but seems to be the common belief. My concern is that these people want bitcoin to be exactly the way saylor describes it: a store of value, digital property, investment, etc.

We want it to be money so we can move on from fiat. But people like Saylor benefit more from Bitcoin when it ISN’T money. What Saylor can do, plebs like us cannot. We can’t get loans at the interest rates that he can: less than 1%. So whenever he takes out a loan and buys Bitcoin, he’s practically guaranteed to win. It’s basically free money. Look at the interest rates we deal with when buying a home or a car. A pleb trying to play the fiat game has to pay 15% or more to take out a loan against his Bitcoin. Remember that they don’t pay taxes on debt. Clearly the system favors people like Saylor so why would the suits give that up? It’s against their own interests. That’s why I think he is against Bitcoin development. He runs a software company, he is well aware of the amount of work it takes to maintain code and fix bugs. That is mostly what Bitcoin core does. I think the problem for Saylor is that Open Sats funds projects like btc pay server, ecash, and Zeus. These are projects that literally undermine the current fiat system. Under a bitcoin standard, Saylor would have to work and/or take on risk to earn more bitcoin. But the current system allows him to just borrow money and let NGU make him richer. And the way the macro environment looks right now, people may look for alternatives in the upcoming years. If Bitcoin is too expensive on the base chain and the second layer solutions are not ready, they will stick with Bitcoin IOUs and keep the fiat system going.

All valid points. He can frame Bitcoin as not a currency but it doesn't stop us using it as one. I think that's the difference. He's preaching a message that suits him and his audience like we all do. Primarily I want Bitcoin to absorb all the fiat capital and neutralise the system, preventing the state from printing money and shrinking it down. Saylor's efforts align with that. There's also an element of don't take the state head on, trojan horse that shit onto everyone's balance sheet then win the battle. The winners dictate terms afterwards.

I wondered if people who don't like Saylor take it a little for granted. Before 2020 it was slim pickings lol, we had Pomp on cnbc spreading the gospel. Saylor is a vast improvement.

Apparently if you agree with Saylor's well considered and articulated view you're a fanboi for a fed lmao. I follow various cartoon anons, randoms and degenerates who I presume could all be feds. On Nostr we judge arguments on their merits not personalities gfy.

Nobody is anti all forks. I'll consider each and judge on it's merits. Imo CTV is reckless and unnecessary and I question the judgment of anyone pushing it. Taproot enabled more shitcoinery and devs have not recovered sufficient social captial to propose such sweeping changes so soon.

Hope where there once was none. Hope is all we have, we need it to live no matter what our circumstances. Bitcoiners are becoming a force with influence, we can do this.
