Subnostr

The profile data is on atlas.nostr.land, and there are kind 10002 events in all major relays pointing to that. And yet all clients failed to catch that, including Gossip, Coracle and Snort.

Now relay.nostr.band has already pulled everything so it will probably start working in a centralized fashion.

I think it may be a bit of an overload for an average user ( though I suppose reviews are precisely to overcome that).

I wish there was some app that does outer-join on relays - that's shows the type of posts I'm missing out on by not adding a relay. That'll be useful to pick a good set of relays

Do you have any concerns about the true censorship resistant nature of the network over time with the centralizing forces that exist specific to relays?

Is it likely we see a few dominant relays forced to operate in a “compliant” fashion ?

History is not yet written, nostr could go off the rails in all kinds of different directions. I think it's very important we continue to de-commodify relays, and create mechanisms for clients and users to discover the correct relay for the use case, whether it's data locality or additional functionality.

Thank you 🙏 It's partly because I use Amethyst a lot which makes it easy to find out which relays posts are from - similar to Coracle but uses relay icons instead of colors.

Coracle is the only client that I've tried that explains relays in the onboarding journey - not sure if that's good or bad 😅 But I like that I can get a relay preview 😊
