I see "B2X" but that still looks like a loan thing, not a deposit-and-earn-interest thing.

These guys have that

Just looked at this, still looks like it's all "loans" and not "deposits"? Which thing are you referring to?

Hello everyone! I want to share my opinion on how much a node or multiple nodes in the #Bitcoin #LightningNetwork can earn for their owners, using the example of my own nodes. I will provide the figures as an annual percentage.

Currently, over approximately five days, the entire network of my nodes earns about 500,000 satoshis per day on average. This is an average parameter. 500,000 satoshis is 0.005 bitcoins.

The liquidity on my side across all nodes is roughly around 300 bitcoins. So, let's simply calculate the annual percentage. You can roughly calculate it like this: 0.005 bitcoin multiplied by 365 days divided by 300 bitcoins. Multiply by 100%, and it comes out to about 0.6% profit from fees, which are currently at 700 ppm + 1 sat base fee.

This formula does not take into account the costs for opening channels, which include on-chain fees for Bitcoin channel opening transactions, nor does it include various expenses related to channel closures, whether automatic or forced, cooperative or forced. We are just taking the net figure as if the same channels were open all year without any expenses. You should also consider the risks associated with annual node maintenance. These include hosting costs, creating backups, labor efforts, and the risks of node hacking, which could theoretically be hacked and have all funds stolen.

Is this a profitable venture? You decide for yourselves. I just wanted to share some useful information with you.

Goodbye!

Also, any insight on how you have ended up landing at 700ppm? Are you likely to keep it there or are still experimenting? Any why consistent fees for every channel, is it not better to set fees in such a way as channels might stay balanced and not become depleted in one direction?

#asknostr I'm seeing a lot of entities that offer "bitcoin backed loans".. but what about the opposite side, like "deposit BTC to earn interest"? Obviously there are altcoin "yield" and "staking" scams, but I'm wondering if there is anything serious in the works for this that don't involve altcoins?

Thanks for sharing. The thing is.... this is when you had your channels set to 700 ppm, right? I see you have been tweaking these fees recently.. I think you had a long period of zero fees, followed by fees around 1500, followed now by 700 -- given these changes, isn't it likely the network might "adjust" over time, and your 0.6% profit estimate might therefore vary widely? Or you are confident that, if you continued with 700 ppm, you would likely stay around 0.6% long-term? (FYI, we run The Megalith Node, had some channels in common for a while but none currently.)

"Mudano says a token will be launched alongside ArchVM that will be used by customers to pay for transaction fees on the network. The investors in this round will be given those tokens in the future in lieu of company equity in what is known as a simple agreement for future tokens, or a SAFT—a common type of arrangement in the crypto space. "

#asknostr Is Doug Hoyte on Nostr? #strfry is so damn impressive ... properly industrial strength websockets serving tech that you can just run yourself...

nostr:npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq users.... We just rolled out a new strfry relay for our NWC connections. NWC things like listing your transactions and making payments should now be somewhat faster. If you notice anything wrong, pls let us know ASAP. (We changed some DNS but the TTL is set to one hour currently so theoretically that should not be a problem)

just zapped you, will be providing invoice shortly

I think the "single ipad" thing in Teslas just makes them cheaper to build. (The other reason local Liberals are trying to get rid of their Teslas -- they are now too cheap and are no longer status symbols!).... I actually find the "big single screen" to be pretty nice, because the mapping is so good. It's just the 2022+ telas which require you to do "Forward/Reverse" switching on the screens... pretty bad...

The other thing -- the autopilot on Teslas is VERY VERY GOOD. I can easily go across LA -- fifteen miles -- on city streets, with lots of complex traffic behavior and impatient, fast drivers, and the autopilot is a MUCH safer driver than ANY human including myself.

Currently I only drive pre-2022 Teslas which still have the "stick" controls instead of having to do anything on the screen. Haven't tried a Polestar yet, want to check that out. Currently all the upscale Liberals in my neighborhood are in an Instagram-fueled panic and are desperately trying to get rid of their Teslas in order to conform with the anti-Elon thing, so I'm seeing a lot more electric cars of other brands. The Jaguar electric looks pretty good, that is what Waymo uses and we've used Waymo a lot around LA and it's incredible.

I have owned many Teslas I and I put their reliability well-below something like Toyota or a Subaru. But they're so much more fun to drive.
