Just realized it’s not NOSTR after hours just yet, alright let me tone it down a bit.

Trust is not required, you can open a watch tower with someone you’re reasonably certain won’t scam you and then they will have your backups. It’s very hard to run away with someone’s money in a locked HTLC

I know this is mainly a bitcoin social media platform, but I must say when deciding on cash or plastic for real life transactions:

1. Cash is private. With plastic you are likely raped data-selling-wise

2. No one can "turn off your cash". There are no freezes on your wallet

3. You can take your cash where ever you go with no complications - no foreign transaction fees, etc

4. Cash works with no internet, no power, bank holidays and other extreme situations

5. You are supporting a society where privacy is the default, people control their money directly, no third party between you and the seller

6. You are not paying the banks, credit cards, etc., fees. All the money goes to the seller

Obviously you are still subject to inflation, etc., but until we get more mainstream adoption in the US, cash is my preference
