Great article!
When I put myself into the shoes of our globalist billionaires, I can see their point of view:
There are too many people on earth. They’re dirty. They throw garbage out the window, and crap all over the place. With AI and robotics, we no longer need them to work our factories. We need a way to cull them quietly while keeping them controlled and nonviolent.
What to do?
✅ reduce their birth rate
✅ increase excess deaths
✅ make them fight each other
✅ take away their weapons
✅ dependent and subservient
✅ take away mobility
Thankfully we can fight back. But it seems only a few of us will.
Now fast-forward 20 years. The reality is that the survivors of this probably won’t want to save the woke masses. Can we take care of them all? They’ll be mentally damaged, unproductive and sick. 🤷♂️
Liquid might be an underrated component of the bitcoin ecosystem. Perhaps developers should consider integrating Liquid into a variety of bitcoin processes.
For example, Lightning nodes have a requirement that they must be online to receive a payment. This makes it difficult to run a node on your mobile phone.
Perhaps using Liquid as a mailbox would work? Your Lightning payment is routed first to Liquid. Then, when your mobile node is back online, it checks your mailbox and pulls your payment into your Lightning wallet.
In addition to the benefit of offline payments, it might provide better Lightning privacy. My understanding is that when using Lightning, the payer knows the receiver’s node address. By routing Lightning payments first through Liquid’s confidential transactions, the privacy of the receiving Lightning node may be better protected.
Indicting Trump practically guarantees that he gets re-elected. This is unfortunate because the new crop of candidates RFK Jr, Vivek, DeSantis are so much better.
I get that Trump is a fighter and why people believe he’s best to take on the deep state. The problem is that he’s not a detail guy (to be charitable) so he must surround himself with a great team. He’s proven he doesn’t know how to do that. (Pence?)
He’s also a man without principles. He stands for anything that will make himself look good.
My dream ticket would be RFK Jr + Vivek.🤞 This would keep DeSantis as governor of Florida where he can really do some good in aligning other states to take back powers ceded to the Federal government.
Getting Trump in 2024 would be par for this fourth turning. I think this turning isn’t expected to end until the end of the decade so perhaps we get a good leader in 2028.
Quite a day

These psychopaths are going to turn the internet off.

My understanding is that the prime risk of a solar flare is to the grid. It would be unlikely (impossible?) for a solar flare to leave the grid and just take out the internet. The article mentions the threat to the grid deeper in the article but implies the threat is mainly to the internet. 🤷♂️
Yes, I’m worried about this too. It’s fragile. There are a few key choke points. Probably wouldn’t take it completely offline, but make it severely congested. I think it’s more likely for them to blame anonymous hackers (and not a solar flare). Then they’ll claim we need to sign in with a government ID to access the internet so hackers can never secretly take it down again.
Seems like it would be an advantage to create custodians in various nations who won’t cooperate with each other to reduce the chance of legal capture.
Bring it.
Part of me thinks it’s beneficial for all centralized exchanges to be eliminated. I’m thinking it will force the creation of better decentralized exchanges.
Vision Pro might be the most impressive computing device ever created. This will change everything.

Spatial damus!?
It’s a mixed bag. It’s clearly great for work like software development, with multiple virtual screens. IMHO, Apple should have focused the product as a work device. Perhaps they could have replaced the need for a laptop plus multiple screens.
Entertainment is mixed. Watching a movie is great if you live alone. Are families going to buy one for everybody? Nope.
Apple’s demos looked awkward. It’s a like a space helmet dragging a cord with it. It looks “anchored”.
It’s anti mobile and anti spontaneity. You’re not going to walk around outside with it. A FaceTime call comes in. Are you going to run, find it and put it on? No.
As it stands, it’s an expensive niche device. A laptop replacement would have been the killer app, in my view. Maybe some developer will create a killer app that we don’t anticipate.
We need to build on and support decentralized platforms. Apple controls that ecosystem and can rug pull Damus at any time. I’m not sure I would prioritize deeper integrations into that centralized ecosystem.
I think if you’ve clicked “I forgot my password” in the last year, then you the kind of person who probably prefers a custodian.
That’s why I’m encouraged by the fedimint model. We need more decentralized custodian systems.
I’m very excited to share some big news!

Seeing a lot of overlap with nostr. Wondering if it would make sense to build on nostr and push it forward.
I’ve been reading reactions to AI saying that humans have always worried about technology taking jobs. But in the past, workers always found something else to do.
Here’s why it really might be different this time. Humans have a limitation — their intelligence.
Let’s assume, that the average person has an IQ of 100. Let’s say manual farm labor requires an IQ of 65. Most people have a higher IQ so they could find something else to do.
You can think of technology as automating its way up the IQ scale. Removing jobs that required an IQ of 65, 75, or 85. What’s different now is that we’re starting to automate jobs that require an IQ of 100 or even higher.
So I think those worried are almost right. There will be few jobs in the future. What will people do instead? Start businesses. Find a way to help people; be creative problem solvers. Bring a product or service to market. There are endless ways to make people’s lives better.
This is my advice to students. Don’t pay for an expensive and time-consuming education to get a job. You’re wasting your time and money. Learn how to build or create something. Start a business. You probably don’t even need employees. You now have AI.
