Simplicity, peace, and freedom are goals worth attaining.

Simple solutions are almost always are more efficient, but they don’t make money or taxes…

Cassava is such an amazing plant. 8 months of growth… 26 pounds of roots, about 18,000 calories… in one plant.

Couldn’t agree more! Sunrise and sunset are the best times of day
I found this example of a food forest through time. Nothing will happen if you never start. Those who do start get better dividends than any financial system.

Not sure about the 8.6 mph figure… but I sure don’t have the agility of a chicken, nor the flee response

They could still have half eaten greens and sweet potatoes, but still jump me every time I bring food. #permiestr #chickstr
GM #nostr with a bit of tropical rain in the food forest.

Anyone here dabbled in Electroculture? I held off for some time because it seemed like hype and a fad, and I didn’t think adding lightning rods seemed like a good idea for North Florida. But I saw Deep South Homestead put out a video that actually made a convincing case. I had some leftover wire from a home project, so I thought I’d make some antenna and give it a try. I tried to pick the plants that looked the worst to see if there was appreciable changes. Over the weeks, we shall see…

A little over a month in experimenting with electroculture and… I see no differences at all. I placed some copper rods or antennae next to some plants and retained control plants, and I see no appreciable differences. Here is a link to a video showing some of my turmeric plants in comparison. Anyone else trying #electroculture and seeing positive results?
I was skeptical at the first, and I retain my skepticism for now.

Prime fig picking weather for the 4th. Happy Independence Day #nostr. #grownostr
Here in North Florida we are temperate subtropical. I’ve seen mimosa trees all the way up into Ohio though.
Ah, well not sure what part of the world you are in, but they are considered an invasive species here on the east coast US. They line the highways because they are a nitrogen fixing tree emergent species. Frilly leaves and Pom Pom flowers.
I already loved my mimosa trees for their beauty and versatility, so when I found a chocolate mimosa tree, I absolutely had to have it in the food forest. Anyone else heard of a chocolate mimosa tree before?

Anyone else had kale root suckers grow? I’ve never seen this before and I’m flabbergasted!

The cuts were too clean for an animal. No bite marks or anything, just straight shears
Ah bummer. I hope it doesn’t come to that. Usually I’m pretty free to give fruit away to the neighbor kids that ask and give them a mini permaculture lesson as a fee. I guess the risk of creating a beautiful property is people want some of it for their own!
