The DR is the first official English translation and should be very accurate. It's been awhile since I looked into it, but I've heard that the KJV does have translation issues baked in, such as the patron of the work has the word "tyrant" scrubbed for obvious reasons.

Thanks! I'll have to check this out

Cute, all day. I married cute, like nostr:npub1wtuh24gpuxjyvnmjwlvxzg8k0elhasagfmmgz0x8vp4ltcy8ples54e7js, and I don't desire anything else.

Plus, I think cute makes better kids. Kids of "hot" women seem to not turn out well for whatever reason, I've noticed. Our two boys are the cutest, most boyish boys I've ever known.

Learning React and considering a "login with Nostr" function. A website owner could add users by the npub, and those users could login via Alby or nos2x, signing a "login to this site" message to get access.

npub+sign as a replacement for email+password, even for non-social-media sites, could be a huge paradigm shift šŸ¤™

Unless your point was not sarcasm, I don't think I did. I just like giving thoughtful answers to questions made in jest 🤷

I don't believe money was a single invention. I believe it was gradual. The first money was likely something that everyone (most people) wanted but didn't need, like some form of jewelry. It likely just emerged as a social phenomenon, not someone saying "get! I have an idea!" Over time, scarcity and difficulty of production made certain forms a better stand in for trade.

Metals made great money because they don't naturally appear or grow from the environment, have permanence, take a lot of labor to produce, are not easily faked, can be highly aesthetically desirable, and are mintable in standardized amounts.

The trouble with metals is transport. Doing business with neighbors was no trouble, but distance and scale of transaction compound the effort. This is why ledgers, banks, and paper money were invented.

This is interesting! I'll have to look into it more.

Seems like the root difference of "hostile (forces)" and "hostage" versus "enemy" or "enmity". This may be a distinction without a difference.

To "love" is not synonymous with becoming a doormat to the other. That would actually be the opposite because it enables and gives opportunity to gravely sin to those enemies. Instead, self-defense and just war ought not preclude Christian charity, even in war, for if one captures a hostile agent, opportunity to repent ought be given.

This is because it is self abuse. Sex is for babies and bonding, and when its teleology is violated it has natural consequences.

All the hormonal release is supposed to bond a man to his wife, but when he is alone the readiness of the mind to bond has nowhere to aim, so it destructively turns inward.
