This talk is good: https://youtu.be/8pTEmbeENF4?t=748
This part (marked above) in which he talks about how "APIs" are crap is very enlightening. Unfortunately he doesn't say how we can get rid of APIs. But I think Nostr can and is solving at least part of the problem.
APIs can be replaced by a large tube that sucks data from one place to another. Simples.
When my wife is holding the Apple TV remote it’s like I’m living with an old person.
One moment I’m like ‘Yeah let’s put on Rick and Morty’ and the next thing she’s in some firmware settings screen that I’ve never even seen before.
My wife and I honeymooned there in 2012. Can’t wait to get back sometime.
Apple getting more AR features out there in front of us.

Oh wait, I see the little timer icon now. I get it.
Hmm, I cancelled out of my zap in WoS. Should that still register here as a zap?
The fact that you didn’t need to explain that to a reviewer is the surprise to me. Like, they’re aware of Bitcoin and the review guidelines are full of ‘supported currency’ language. They know it’s not exactly like VBucks because it’s actually connected relatively well to the banking system. I think that would matter but maybe not 🤷
The other thing that can be tricky is what constitutes unlocking content or features. E.g. if you use Lightning, do you get a badge of some sort, and if so, is that a feature or content unlock?
Anyway, good that you have had a smooth journey and it hopefully bodes well 🤞
It surprises me a little that you had no issue at all with Zaps. 😅
Just over 10 years here too 🙌
I agree that App Review sucks, but I think Will can go with this and not risk getting thrown out. There’s a good amount of room for making the case, and their policies do evolve — abeit at a glacial pace.
You have a good chance of being right about getting rejected, if not immediately then at some arbitrary future point. As long as it’s reversible, the right thing to do is to try, as that helps effect policy change or at least clarification.
Well, it seems like they are in fact attempting that! 🤪

Ok, but can you quote me the current rule that specifies this, and not something from several years ago?
Just got back from a week in Aruba. Love the place but there are service charges everywhere. So much so that the places that don’t have service charges feel the need to advertise that very prominently so that they get tipped appropriately.
I get where the need comes from but it all feels so customer hostile. 😕
I can see a less private technology than cash and a more open technology than a credit card swipe solving this but I wouldn’t go building it just yet. 😊
And if you find another way, I wanna know about it :)
If you’re replacing carbs with protein that might help a little, but it’s hard if you’re a fairly experienced lifter. Anabolics or routines like HST that shake those neural pathways up are options that can work.
If this guys excited, then I’m a little excited.

Thanks, but that doesn’t provide the ability to inspect the traffic!
Finally figured this out. The door lock (it wasn’t the doorbell after all) is connected to a central hub device using z-wave which is some proprietary IoT 900Mhz technology. The home hub has a functioning cellular connection, which I was totally unaware of. The installer never mentioned it. The cellular connection is notifying their servers that the battery is low. Apple push notifications are still being delivered to their iOS app on my phone, even though I’m not logged in, since the systems are independent. nostr:note1qr82s20nr5yqv2f3z5gaa7ggr09d3rs4hz4whf4yvlp0cdcu6hrqaz2n4s
