In a surprising turn it seems I need to eat a lot more protein if I want to lose the rest of my belly fat.
Also starting to question if weightlifting in the morning while fasting is shooting myself in the foot.

"The literature says that if you do high intensity weightlifting and then move into zone two cardio while fasted, you will burn more body fat per unit time than if you had eaten before or during the exercise. If you need to eat or you like to eat before you train, that also can work. And if you train very intensely, you're likely to shift over to the fat burning pattern more quickly as well."
From what I gathered that is best to fast maybe protein shake at most then lift then eat within a 4-6 block and of course hydrate with 1 gallon a water. All easier said than done!
eat once a day – it fixes everything
It fixed my marriage
Is that even possible?
Yes, I average about 3lbs of steak every day & almost never eat more than 2 meals, often just 1.
That’s something I never even imagined. How much time passes between you wake up and your first meal?
I usually eat between 11 & 2, but if I know I will be busy then I may eat early. I generally try to keep my meals within a 4 to 6 hour window & I try not to eat too late.
If I eat an unusally large amount one day, I may not be as hungry the next day, so I eat less. If I eat very little one day I may eat more & earlier the next day. Once you break the carb addiction it becomes much clearer that hunger is not really an hour to hour sort of concern (unless you are just generally eating far too little), the more volatile desire for food that people confuse with hunger is usually just a sugar craving.
I do it frequently but it's really hard psychologically, I don't usually last more than a week.
You can weighlift fasted as long as you eat some protein after the fact to capitalize on the work you just put in
Read Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. Then listen to any of his Q&A until you tired of the words: EAT MORE
Maybe with a good diet coach you can combine these goals, but afaik it's easier to get strong first and lose excess fat later.
That said, it's also easy to keep doing the eating part while slacking on the weight lifting. :-)
Or maybe eat more randomly? Sometimes more sometimes less. No structure.
I don’t know if there is a digestion timer in the stomach but I think eating at the same time would train the stomach to digest at that given time ? I find being religious abt eating hours particularly useful (lunch and dinner) .
I agree with you so much - as people become more informed they are breaking out of the three meal a day/breakfast lunch & dinner mindset.💜
I eat about 300g of fat & 300g of protein every day, very little body fat with very little fluctuation regardless of exercise. I generally just get skinnier if I don't work out.
Mostly ribeyes & eggs, & my only (very few) carbs generally come from a little plain whole milk greek yogurt.
Normally I can shift the flab by omad'ing but lately I'm struggling to do it
Eating too much protein may damage the kidneys.
Source? There are studies that concluded even eating 3+ grams per pound of body weight has no detrimental effects. I'm only going to target 1g per pound.
Don't have a source but I can probably find one. I'm old enough to remember that the early followers of the Atkins diet 20 plus years ago developed kidney problems years later.
"In addition to having potential implications of kidney function and structure, high-protein diets may also lead to other metabolic complications.
High dietary intake of protein may lead to higher levels of urea and other nitrogenous waste products."
I find fasted cardio is pretty good, then massive protein hits after some weights.
If you’re replacing carbs with protein that might help a little, but it’s hard if you’re a fairly experienced lifter. Anabolics or routines like HST that shake those neural pathways up are options that can work.
And if you find another way, I wanna know about it :)
Being mostly carnivore and following your body's signals of hunger, fatigue etc solves most issues
It all depends, for some the fasting may be bad, for others not.
In general if you are redlining cortisol the entire day, the fasting may be adding stress. But it all depends
I know this sounds crazy, but try eating 4-6 eggs with cheese and bacon for your first meal. Eat a pound of ground beef for your second meal. Once or twice a week replace the beef with Salmon or chicken. High quality ingredients are key. This diet is affordable, effective, and tasty.
I’m no expert, but from my experience and from my uncle’s experience, we think it works well and is healthy.
Pro Tip: If your traveling and don’t want to eat unhealthy food at a drive thru or restaurant, swing by you local grocery store and grab a pound of thick sliced roast beef. It’s like eating steak.
