The Romance of Bitcoin

Bitcoin really is the greatest romantic story of all playing out right in front of us, and hardly anyone notices just how extraordinary epic it is.

The story of a lone man with a love for humanity that is so great that he would choose to sacrifice not only the greatest fortune that has ever been created, but that the very substance of who he is—his identity itself—all just to give us the choice to be free. It is an inspiring epic that ask for each of us to rise to the task of what it would mean to truly love humanity and allow for the choice of such a freedom to come from only us, rather to live in the world of fiat darkness where the agency and power of man is something to be feared and caged in.

Now having been given the tools of personal liberation and self-soverginty, Satoshi loved us all enough to ask us the question if we also love ourselves enough to take on the task of what it means to enact the liberation that can only come from us through the empowerment of bitcoin. It ask from each of us not only to engage in the action of self-care in such a dramatic and empowering way that not only does it transform our existence from the plainness of everyday life that is the lackluster mechanization of everyday, but to show the world as an example of what such a love for all human would look like enacted in the day-to-day. It is not a life of the robust power and dictation of the state recreated anew, but a new form-of-life to free all people everywhere for the rest of time from such restrictions towards what it would really mean to be free.

Bitcoin is not about getting rich, making money, or even creating self-soverginty for ourselves; but is about loving the whole of humanity with such passion and conviction that not only will I be free, but so will everyone who truly understands what the love of bitcoin really is. A love for the freedom of humanity and infinite agency that comes from the soul of each and every individual who is now allowed to hold their wealth outside and beyond the view of any agency, body, ideal, or state in order to be something for each of us on its own. It is a love that can only actualize with the love, respect, and dignity that comes with understanding what the deepest purpose of bitcoin truly is. It is the secret that all Bitcoiners know and hold in their hearts, and it is from this dream of a better world and what the love of one another is, that we can truly change what is happening to our world together. No only for our people, but for the space that can only be reserved for the future ones that are loved before the arrive. This is so we may bow to them with reverence, dignity, and grace to say, “We have save this for you, and for only you.”

This romance for the human species and the kind of power and agency that we can each find within ourselves as a locus of control against a world that seeks to control everything is messianic insofar that it truly has the power to change everything. Only from the black of night that is the darkness of fiat, and the seeming end of man as a creature of infinite creativity, power, and agency; do we find the means to once again become the people that only we are capable of.

And as will all great romantic stories, the drama and tragedy that tells this tale of the most epic and extreme circumstances. For if bitcoin is not to succeed in this mission to liberate humanity from the bondage of debt slavery, financial surveillance, infinite fiat printing; that we will surrender the very fabric of what it means to be human to a dead and calculating machine of statism and its endless demand to control everything. It will only be love, love in the greatest, most astounding, bombastic envisioning that the world has ever seen that will save us from what is coming.

The electrification of consciousness that comes from bitcoin allows for the jumpstarting of sincere thinking not just as a form of logic, but as a means of achieving the ethics of what love is. This understanding of the praxis of love as a form of life allows for people to come to understand and see what fiat money really is under the imperialism of statism, and what that has cost us all. How dearly we have paid for this kind of money, this form of life, and this kind of economic machine that is not only divorced from the true care of all people everywhere, but has worked against them in such a way that very few can see the possibility of an exit at all.

This is why love and the understanding of what it is beyond a mere feeling and into an ethical praxis is of the greatest and most astounding purpose of bitcoin. It demonstrates that there is no price, no fiat value, no economic quantification towards what the freedom of the individual can truly mean. For man is not a cog in a machine from which his worth can be calculated, as a soul is not an engine with inputs and outputs, but is the infinite mysterious empowerment which secretly resides within each of us, and from which any person may achieve infinity. Together, we can choose to create a new world, one that is free from the rot and despair of fiat money and what it has robbed us of; but only if we choose the most radical form of love that chooses to vanquish the power and control of money from the hands of others, and back into our own.

#Bitcoin is literally the start of the infinite game

Lawfare

The written ruling today exposing CSW as a fraud and a liar over many years is no suprise to many, long overdue for those pursued and abused by the legal processes that Cregg&Enablers employed, and definitively formal ruling mainstream can refer to

Thank fuck for that!

The case highlights the absurdity of the level to which CSW&Enablers were able to use the legal system in many jurisdictions to run this abuse. All the while, CSW has outstanding obligations, rulings, judgements and payments in other jurisdictions that he's able to (effectively) ignore. Pretty sure CSW has frens at the ATO here in Australia that still want a bit of a chat with him

What CSW and his happy bunch of Enablers didn't perhaps think through is that bitcoiners, like the timechain itself, have long memories, and as NgU, that power-imbalance of being able to leverage the "legal system" is going pivot

Not advocating that strategy specifically, but like a lot of things in, around and orthogonal to Bitcoin, it's always important to:

- Learn the tools

- Use the tools

- Teach the tools

The "legal system" is a tool of the wealthy, and bitcoiners are coming

#Bitcoin is for enemies.

It starts and ends with you

Be safe and secure ..

At the recent nostr:npub1fceadcz5zunfrxkv33437e27z86tehs95gtc4z7wjkeexel8llrq50sy0m I told the story of my friend who likens plebs holding bitcoin to sitting up in the high cheap seats way up the back of the stadium, with friends and beers and popcorn, watching the greatest game ever played unfold

We’ve got all sorts of smart people explaining what’s going on in politics, finance, economics, geopolitics, software, game theory and a hundred other orthogonal topics ..

.. and plebs can watch the game unfold as long as they’re holding their own keys and running their own node

This is the minimum

Find your tribe, connect with other bitcoiners, commit your skill and effort where you are able

Bitcoin is the longest lever upon which we can push for meaningful change in the world 🔥🧡

A story that illustrates why I will never orange pill anyone ever again.

2015- Attempt to orange pill friend multiple times. No dice. Totally uninterested.

2019- He asks me if now is a good time to get into bitcoin. “It’s always a good time”. I set him up with a HW wallet and tell him DCA and chill.

2019- Friend calls me a few months later, he wants to put the down payment money for his house into bitcoin, but he’s nervous. I say no worries I will backstop your investment. What’re friends for?! I want you to succeed. He now has a no risk investment. Financed by me.

2020: Friend is doing well. Has been stacking hard and has 2 coins. A great stack for his income.

2021: He starts watching cringey YouTube videos about shitcoin trading. Gets into a private telegram, trades his 2 bitcoin into 4 and then gets rug pulled and loses everything.

2021: He’s near suicidal, very dark times. He doesn’t tell me anything because he knows I warned him about trading and thinks I’ll be disappointed in him. Finally he tells me. I help him get a personal loan so he can take advantage of the remainder of the bull run. He sells at 55k and manages to break even. He’s not up but he’s got his house money back.

2023: We’re out drinking with some other friends from high school. He expresses some jealousy towards me in a semi awkward fashion. “Every time I see this dude (me) I think about bitcoin.”

2024: I meet up with him so the kids can play at the park. Vibe is off. Lots of insecurity and tension. They’re going on a trip to San Diego and I ask if they might go to the zoo while there. “I can’t afford that. That’s for rich people like you”. Odd interaction, but I shake it off.

2024: A few weeks later he gets drunk and hits on my wife via text messages. She shows me immediately and I confront him. He’s like “sorry bro I was drunk I didn’t mean it”. I tell him off and make clear this is the last time we will ever speak.

No good deed goes unpunished. I could not have been nicer to this dude and more helpful along the way and he is fully consumed by envy towards me.

Unfortunate.

IMO don’t ever regret prior deeds done with a full heart and a clear helpful intent 🤝

Those choices and behaviour are on him, not on you, and that behaviour from him is just avoidance of him taking responsibility for his actions - not excusing it in any way

Don’t let this (shitty) episode sully the help and counsel you’ve given to many many people (more than 6.15 amiright!!) that now have them with a solid stack and life changing trajectory

You’ve probably seen GreenpeaceUSA's Bitcoin report by now, and my response (if you haven't been blocked).

Here’s six things that every environmentalist, Bitcoin advocate, regulator, policymaker and media representative should know about GreenpeaceUSA.

I've had this information for over a year, but have held back on going public with it until now because there were initially signs that GreenpeaceUSA would be open to engaging with environmentalists within the Bitcoin community.

With them now blocking me from commenting on their tweets, all hope of that has now ended. So here's what I can tell you about GreenpeaceUSA, and their campaign that have not been aired publicly until now, and which may surprise you.

Firstly, some context: I’m a former volunteer environmental campaigner with Greenpeace. I once risked arrest to stand up for causes I believed in, including an anti-GMO campaign against McDonalds which was successful within 6 weeks, and hailed as an example of how creative direct action can yield fast results. One of the differences: we talked to McDonalds (something no one at GreenpeaceUSA is currently doing with the Bitcoin community).

I know a number of people in the environmental movement, and I would like to thank them for their honesty in whistleblowing on a thoroughly misguided campaign from GreenpeaceUSA from start to finish.

1. GreenpeaceUSA’s campaign does NOT have the backing of Greenpeace International. In fact, other branches have asked questions of GreenpeaceUSA’s tactics, and even said that their campaign is damaging the Greenpeace brand, and has resulted in the loss of subscriptions.

2. Within GreenpeaceUSA, there are a growing number of voices of discontent. There is a growing division between some of the younger crypto-neutral or crypto-friendly millennial in their base, and the directorship of GreenpeaceUSA

3. As we know, GreenpeaceUSA did receive a $5Million donation from Ripple’s chair Chris Larsen to run an anti-Bitcoin campaign. What you probably do not know is that within Greenpeace, several staff have questioned whether this is ethical, or in the spirit of an organization that says it relies only on grassroots funding in its sign-up pledge.

4. Some members of EWG and SierraClub, particularly younger members, were not enamoured with their organization’s collusion with GreenpeaceUSA’s “Change the Code” campaign. EWG has not engaged in anti-Bitcoin rhetoric since 6 April ‘23.

5. The head of GreenpeaceUSA’s “Change the Code” campaign has stepped down and is no longer any part of GreenpeaceUSA. At the time of his stepping down he was reported by a source within GreenpeaceUSA to be questioning the wisdom of the campaign.

6. Within GreenpeaceUSA, we know from multiple inside sources that the Change the Code campaign has been widely acknowledged to have been “not particularly successful”. GreenpeaceUSA’s campaign got off on the wrong foot right from the start, by antagonising environmentalists within the Bitcoin community, such as me. Here’s its half-time report (TL;DR, the worst performing environmental campaign I’ve ever witnessed). https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/greenpeace-environment-attacks-help-bitcoin… Now, the campaign is in more disarray than ever, resorting to tenuous ad hominem attacks against Satoshi Action, based on the discover that one of their supporters is a climate denier. True. Well, guess what: one of their supporters is also a plant-based, tree-hugging, climate-activist & meditation teacher: me. That’s the beauty of Bitcoin: it pulls people in from across the political spectrum: we are as diverse as society itself, and that’s what makes us strong. As I wrote recently, “when the ship you’re standing on is sinking: it doesn’t matter if you’re on the left of right side of it.”

I hoped GreenpeaceUSA would end their anti-Bitcoin campaign before their credibility and relevance to the new generation of millennials they are currently disenfranchising is completely severed.

But it seems at the moment they are more intent on doubling down on misinformation. Their leadership must change for them to ever have hope of becoming a true voice for the environment again.

Thanks for your patient and pain-staking work here Daniel - look forward to hearing you this weekend at Bitcoin Alive in Sydney 🤝
