Bitcoin & 🫂 Oh and dimly trying to think through interesting issues. I think that I don’t have a right to force you to do anything other than not harm me or others. Seems like most people I interact with in the real world disagree with this statement. To be fair.. the devil is in definition of “harm”.

This quote from Consider Phlebus made me think of LLMs and the future of them being able to mimic us. Would you want to talk to an LLM that pretended to be a deceased relative? What if it was indistinguishable? Would you follow all LLMs on Nostr in such a scenario?

…[Changers] were a threat to identity, a challenge to the individualism even of those they were never likely to impersonate. It had nothing to do with souls or physical or spiritual possession; it was, as the Idirans well understood, the behavouristic copying of another which revolted. Individuality, the thing which most humans held more precious than anything else about themselves, was somehow cheapened by the ease with which a Changer could ignore it as a limitation and use it as a disguise.

Iain M. Banks, Consider Phlebas (Culture, no. 1)

Nature, nurture, and personal virtue I think. We lucked out on the first two.

The first time I heard about bitcoin (way too many years after the white paper) I latched onto it immediately. Good on us for figuring it out.

That said, I’d argue it was luck that it was that year and not 5 from now. And I think it’s worth recognizing that as we demonetize everyone else’s savings.

That said, I’d still prefer stuff I don’t like (and ideally can’t see without clicking a button) to be in the trending list if it really is trending

Remember nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj, the originator of the Primal cEnSoRsHiP and ShAdOwBaNnInG narrative?

Check out his latest work below. He took the time to create a fake Primal content advisory. Even put in the effort with the border gradient to make it look real. Then he got nostr:npub1ezw0xm0w52rd4yfdg9zlw9qvwdy46alzelklkefptrd203m37tuq4djmeg to post this and boosted to create outrage. Kinda similar playbook as the original attack a couple of months ago.

The sad part is that many people take him seriously. We got some questions yesterday, so I’ll repeat again here. The image below is 100% FAKE. Primal does not display content advisories.

As for nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj, dude are you okay? Seriously concerned for you. You are a talented developer, why waste your cycles on such negativity? Find something productive to work on. This is Nostr; that level of hate does not vibe here. Pura vida. 💜☀️🫂

I want to not see certain content. But I want to be the person who controls it. I once saw a picture two decapitated female heads in global, posted by someone who said they hate women. No thank you.

Reminds me of https://newpalmyra.org/

Eventually (soon, presumably largely AI-generated?) one ought be able to zoom around the entire earth at any given year and see a reasonable guess of what it looked like.

Very cool

lol. That does seem like what would happen if nothing changes. Just imagine the green bitcoin candles…

I was imagining the UBI paid for as taxes on AI productivity if we manage to do that

That’s great. Is the white house also paying or what?

I mean under the AI assumption, the AI is the proletariat, the wage earning class. Assuming we find a way to control it, we’re the aristocracy.
